I trudged through the snow and to the mailbox in front of my house.

The snow sank into my onesie, making it damp, but I trudged on.

The snow never got shoveled much anymore, not for the past three years.

My family mostly just let it pile up. Once in a while my mother or father would get agitated and shovel a pathway no bigger than two feet wide.

They weren't agitated yet.

"Hello," a voice said making me jump backwards.

In doing so I slipped on a piece of snow and my ass landed straight into the snow.

"Fuck sorry," he said.

"Cold, cold, cold." I pulled myself up and glared at the guy.

"Sorry," he said. "Luna right?"

"How do you know my name?" I asked, giving him a sceptical look.

He was dark brown hair and caramel skin. Unlike me, he was layered up in a jacket and a hoodie along with Adidas sweatpants and Timberlands.

"Darcy Harrison," he said.

"Are there supposed to bells ringing?" I asked, reaching for the mail box.

"We were in English together senior year," he said.

"Ohh," I said with fake enthusiasm.

"You don't have a clue who I am do you?" he asked.

I shook my head. "Not a damn clue," I said. "I'm sorry, senior year was a long time ago."

"Two years," he agreed.

"Yeah," I said, pulling out the mail.

"Well, I just came to say hi," he said. "I'm home for the holidays."

I nodded.

"You know where I am," he said and pointed behind him to the house across the street.
