"Oh, good to see you." Scarlet smiled nervously at me, "Sorry, but I'm a little busy. Simon's not doing too well."
I blinked, "What? What happened?"
"Long story." Scar grabbed my hand, "Just come with me, okay?"
"Okay." I still couldn't think clearly, but I could tell something was wrong.
So I went with her.

"Shhhh, shhh, it's okay, buddy." Scarlet let go of my hand and sat down on something. My vision focused and I saw her hugging Simon. Had something happened to him? I hoped he wasn't hurt.
I didn't really know what to do, so I just stood there like an idiot. Simon looked fine, but then again I looked fine despite having a broken rib. Scarlet also looked fine most of the time.
"What's wrong?" I managed to choke out, taking a step closer to them.
Scarlet pulled away from Simon and I saw tears across his cheeks, but no signs of injury. That didn't mean I wasn't worried. Scar held Simon's hands in hers, "Do you want to tell James what happened?"
Simon was shaking, and I finally noticed what was wrong. Peeking out from under his shirt was a number of stitches across his stomach. I was about to speak, but the words caught in my throat.
Simon seemed to compose himself and spoke between shaking sobs, "Y-You tell him."
"Okay, I will." Scarlet stood back up and I actually noticed where we were. Scar had led me to an out-of-the-way hospital room Simon would usually hide out in. That struck me as odd, because wouldn't Simon have gotten a normal room to get stitches?
"Xavier struck again. Since he knows he can't get to me, he attacked Simon. But we couldn't just go to the hospital."
I swallowed hard, "Why?"
"Xavier made it clear." Scarlet's face darkened, "He has friends in the hospital wing, and they'd fuck him up if I brought Simon in."
"What did you do?"
"I did what I do best." Scar grinned, "I patched him up with some rags, and once we got here I disinfected it and stitched him up. I've done it for a while, I'm good at it."
"She is." Simon laughed weakly, having calmed down, "She didn't even need my help finding the stuff."
"Now he's taking it easy." Scarlet smiled and moved back to Simon's side, putting a hand on his shoulder, "It wasn't anything too serious, more shock than anything."
"Yeah, I'll be okay." Simon smiled, "I'm glad you're here too, James."
I smiled back, "I'm glad to be here."
***
"James!" Someone jabbed a finger into my shoulder. I woke up immediately, and rubbed my arm as I opened my eyes.
Scarlet was staring at me and continued to whisper-shout, "Come on, we need to talk about some stuff. Simon is waiting for us outside."
I rubbed my eyes, slowly sitting up, "What?"
"Come on." Scar grabbed my arm and pulled me from my bed. I barely caught myself on my feet and followed her.
It hadn't been a day since I got out of the hospital and we were discussing secrets in the middle of the night. Sounded like Scarlet.
It didn't take us long to make it outside, and when we did I saw Simon. Simon looked pissed.
"We're getting out of here as soon as we can, okay? Our escape plan starts today."
