***ASHLEY'S POV***

It was a sunny Saturday morning that Ashley woke up feeling like utter shit. She rolled out of bed, the blanket still making her feel as if she was cocooned in the soft material. The rest f her family had gone shopping for groceries, something they did every second Saturday. It was usually bliss, peaceful and quiet. She could do homework r catch up on latest episodes of shows. Including Sherlock.

But this particular day, she felt sick and didn't want to even move. Reluctantly, she trudged down the stairs to have a late, eleven o'clock breakfast and turn on the news, mainly for white noise. She hummed as she took some ibuprofen and sat on the lounge, now switching the channel to Loony Tunes. She was bored and was falling half asleep when she heard the doorbell ring. She rolled her eyes, as it was probably Megan wanting to tell her new gossip from her family. She had a busy life and hated her sister's boyfriend.

"Oh my God, fuck off." She groaned and sat u, eventually standing up, feeling dizzy as she did so. This was a horrible day. She walked down the short hallway and opened the door to see Ryder.

"What?" She looked u at him with dreary eyes, drooping every few seconds. She was not in the mood to put on a show for one guy. Even if she did like him. He looked down at her fairly short form and smiled.

"Hey. I was wandering if you wanted to hang out?" He asked, his voice kind of blurry as she drifted in and out of thought. She did want to hang out with him, but she felt as if she was losing the game and she didn't want to lose him. She had a chance to go out with one of the hottest guys in school and her brother just had to nose his way into this whole situation. And she was not one to turn down a bet, or a cute guy. She was stubborn. And resilient.

"Do we have to go anywhere, 'cause I don't feel well enough." She smiled a little and felt like she could be herself around this guy.

"Of course we don't." He smiled and she opened the door wider to allow him into the house. It wasn't the cleanest house and her family didn't have people over often. It was cozy, enough to house five or six people with four different bedrooms, one being the spare with two beds.

"Sorry about the mess." She smiled and guided him into the lounge room. She was hoping he wouldn't notice that the TV was now turned onto Supernatural. This show was the reason their uncle had an Impala, the exact same model as the one in the show. When Ryder did turn and notice the show, he looked at her and silently asked if he could sit on the lounge. When she smiled and nodded, he sat and looked at the characters of the show. It was an episode when Dean and Benny had just found Castiel in Purgatory, and the hunter and angel were sharing a 'man-hug'.

Ryder nodded and looked at them before looking at Ashley and asking, "They're together, right?" He then smiled and she couldn't help but smile back.

"I wish. Nah, they're friends." She rolled her eyes, knowing the two were only friends and that they were platonic. When Dean pulled away and looked at Castiel's lips, he smirked and looked at her again.

"Yeah. Friends." He rolled his eyes and gestured to the television, smiling at the other character who really seemed to be more of a third wheel at the moment.

"I know, right?" They then got into a three hour-long conversation about all the shows they watched, which included Orphan Black, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, Orange is the New Black, Sherlock and Doctor Who. They seemed to like the same shows, although he had never seen an episode of Doctor Who.

She rolled her eyes and nudged him on the chest when he asked, "Isn't it something to do with hospitals." She knew he was joking, but proceeded to smile when he kept joking about the show.

Eventually, the two ended up pushing each other onto the floor and it was fun, until Ashley pulled Ryder on top of her and began making out with him. He giggled in surprise, which he would later deny, but eventually pushed her back on the lounge as they continued to kiss. It was slow and meaningful, but felt slightly out of place, even if they were home alone. Maybe they were moving too fast? They had, after all, only been on one date. She shrugged it off and rolled them over, gently tracing her hands over his chest.

They didn't hear the front door open. When her brother walked into the room, he cleared his throat and walked over to them, looking over the back of the lounge, grinning. They stopped kissing and looked up at Conan, who was glaring at Ryder only slightly, before smiling at his sister. He crossed his arms, seeming relaxed as he spoke. "This technically doesn't count as a date, because you obviously didn't leave the house." He then skipped of to help with the shopping.

"I should go, unless your family wants help." Ryder smiled down at her. She couldn't help but feel defeated as he climbed off of her, smiling.

"No, it's fine. I'll see you on Monday?" She asked, hopeful. She really did like him and wanted to see more of him, especially after that make out session. He smiled and left, humming a 'good bye.' She heard Conan speak again, but this time she didn't pay any attention as she looked through the front window and saw Ryder leave.

"Hello?" Conan waved a hand in front of her face, looking down at her before walking out of the room. "You need to help with the shopping." He spoke before heading out the front door to the car again.

She looked into the distance of the lounge room, zoning out again. For some reason, she couldn't help but feel bad. She shook it off as she too went outside to help with the shopping.
