"Mom, why are you asking me this?"

This is the first time that his mother had shown the slightest bit of concern for him ever since Lucky's death.

"Dean, sit. I'll make hot chocolate." His mother said, giving him a motherly smile.

It was comforting and filled with warmth and Dean could feel traces of that one feeling that made bubbles erupt in his stomach and fill his whole being with warmth; love.

His mother sat down and gave him a cup of hot chocolate with extra marshmallows.

"Dean," she started, playing with the edges of her cup, "I know that I've been so hard on you ever since Lucky died," She looked at him and continued, "I'm sorry. Your father doesn't seem to understand what you're going through. But I do and I didn't talk sense into his brains."

Dean ate the marshmallows and started drinking the hot chocolate. He didn't know what to say to his mother.

He didn't know her this way and while he liked what she was doing and that she was trying to reach out to him, he wasn't sure if he wanted to put his hand out for her to catch him.
