Delicately as the water kissed the land.
Receding back into the sea.
The fresh sea air smoothing over my exposed skin,
Brushing my hair back like a comforting hand.
Whistling into the shell of my ear, a lullaby to my tired soul.
The warmth reaching across from behind the clouds, easing the raw wounds.
Sleep drifted me across the drowning waters of memories.
Softly whispering to myself, "I want to forget you."
