I do, all the time, and there is things that I'm noticing, things that make me roll my eyes, and dramatically fall on my bed in annoyance.

HELLO. DONT YOU KNOW WHO BIRTHED YOU. People, parents are big part of people's lives, without them we would not be able to do anything. Give em a role in your book. A good advice parent, a great friendship, it's the fluff that makes me happy. Just do it. The character will have progression because of the parent, and that's good, because when you are reflecting at the end of a good book, you think of how much the character has progressed. Progression is good.
