You looked at him from the seat behind his assigned desk. You haven't technically had real conversation with him before, due to him seeming so unapproachable. But you found that interesting. Your sensei rambled on as you stared at the back of his head, zoning out of the lesson. "(L/N) (F/N) and Kenma Kozume." You heard your sensei announce in a mono tone voice. Your head quickly shot up to look at your sensei and she just continued on with reading off your classmates names. You turned your head to the boy you were just starring at, you had been partnered with him for some assignment. Of course you didn't know what the assignment was because you hadn't been listening. "Holy shit, what is happening?" You thought to yourself with wide eyes and continued to look at Kenma. He sighed deeply and turned around to face your desk. You presumed he did that because he doesn't exactly like to interact with people. "Want to start our project after school in the library?" He suggested in a quiet tone, mono tone voice. He seemed to lack a lot of emotion, it was, odd. You nodded your head, even though you didn't know what you were supposed to be working on. "I should have been listening to sensei for the instructions..." You thought to yourself in a worried tone.

You walked into the school library after the end of all classes bell rang. You had asked some of your classmates for the instructions of the assignment. But not without a struggle because some of your classmates weren't listening either, similar to you. You scanned the room for the emotionless boy that sat ahead of you in your class. After looking for a only a few seconds, you spotted the boy in the corner of the library, playing on his gaming device. You rolled your eyes and smiled to yourself, this seemed very normal to you. During breaks between classes at school he would always be playing video games on his device. Not bothering to try and interact with anyone, unless they tried to socialize with him first. But even then, this proved to be... Difficult. You strolled over to him and pulled out a chair at the table he was sitting at. Then you sat down and placed your bag on the floor, pulling out all the materials and such you needed for the assignment. He glanced up from his gaming device and gave you a disappointed look. "What? Am I really that bad that you don't want me here?" You questioned and he let out a sigh, then shook his head. "No. I was just trying to finish a level on my game and I'm almost done. But now that you are here I have to wait to finish it..." He explained in a saddened tone, seeming truly disappointed that you had arrived. "Oh, sorry. Um... You could finish your level if you want? We still have tons of time to work on the assignment today." You suggested to him, his eyes widened at your response. He tilted his head to the side and seemed to be thinking for a moment. "Really? You wouldn't mind? Because if you really want to, we could start on the project?" He questioned you, still seeming unsure with your proposal. "Yeah, go ahead. I have a book that I could read in my bag during the time." You replied with a smile and he blinked at you for a few seconds. "Well, okay then. Thank you..." He responded and went back to his game, immediately put all of his focus into it. You then pulled your book out of your bag and started to read.

It had been about twenty minutes and Kenma hadn't finished the level. You were starting to zone out of your book and started to put more of your focus on him instead. He looked so dedicated to what he was doing, even though it was just a video game. "Hey Kenma, didn't you say you were almost done your level?..." You questioned him, trailing off. He didn't reply, he just kept playing. "Maybe he didn't hear me?" You thought to yourself, being unsure. "Kenma?" You tried again, this time he actually looked up. You waited for him to respond but he didn't. "Does he just want me to ask him?" You thought to yourself again because you were unsure once more. "Um, why do you look so frustrated? Also, when do you think you'll finish your level so we can start our project?" I questioned him and he let out a groan. "I can't beat the boss at the end of the level. So I don't know how long it will take, sorry. We could start working on the assignment now, if you'd like?" He said frustrated, furrowing his eyebrows. "Wow Kenma, this is the most emotion I've ever seen you express! This is so cool! Also, could I maybe try to help you with the level? My brother makes me play video games with him all the time." I exclaimed to him in an excited tone, then suggested to him truthfully. "Oh. Sorry, I don't really think about how much emotion I show. And yeah, I guess you could try, it's quite difficult though." He explained in a once again, mono tone voice. He then passed over the device carefully and allowed you to play on it.

After a few minutes of actually exciting game play, you made it to the boss' room. You were now very memorized by the game. It was like you couldn't pull your eyes away, or take your focus off of it for even a millisecond, for that matter. The boss appeared in front of the screen, making you even more determined to beat this level for Kenma. The battle started and you proceeded to furiously slam your fingers onto the devices' controls with determination. Kenma looked at you with amazement. You worked on defeating the boss for a couple of frustratingly long minutes. Soon, the battle had come to an end. "Kenma I won!" You exclaimed happily to him, feeling proud for your accomplishment. "What really?!" He exclaimed back and grabbed his device in disbelief to see for himself and you had indeed, won. "Thank you so much!" He exclaimed happily once again. "Oh my god Kenma! You're using more emotion!" You cheered and he blushed at that comment. "I-is that a bad thing?" He asked quietly and you shook your head really quickly. "Nope! Not at all! I'm glad you're showing this emotion to me! It makes me happy!" You gushed to him and he blushed more, then started to hide his face a little in his school jacket. But you just smiled at him anyways. "We should probably start on our assignment together..." He explained softly to you, you then sighed and nodded in agreement. So that is what you two did for the next few hours. For most of the time, Kenma was still was blushing from you. That made your mind start to wonder. "Could it be that maybe... There is something to hope for in my future?..." You thought to yourself, as a small heartfelt smile grew on your face.

Bonus:

"Hey what are you smiling at?" Kenma questioned you, seeming confused because you were smiling at absolutely nothing. "Oh, nothing..." You replied and looked away, a smile creeping on your face once more. "It's happening again..."
