Party Time

I don’t know how they did it, all I know is we were pulling up in front of someone’s house where their parents were obviously not there. I glanced around the car for he hundredth time since sliding in and took in everyone. Liv was the one driving and had gotten her parents to believe she’d be staying the night at my house. Actually all of them had, and what got me was that they hadn’t known whether their plan would work or not.

My parents hadn’t even seen like they did when I asked to go somewhere. My mom was smiling and my dad was cracking jokes, he even gave me forty dollars. For what I have no clue, but that didn’t stop me from sticking it in my purse before his common sense caught up to him. Apparently Evie had been in charge of raiding my closet and finding me something to wear while Nicole and Liv got them to let them stay the night and let us “have a night out on the town” as they put it.

Now I sat here in shorts with a sleeveless button down on and a bow holding back my curls. Nicole turned around and smiled at me before opening her door and scaring me after opening mine. I took in her outfit along with everyone else’s as we closed our doors. Liv walked around to our side along with Evie fixing her shorts and adjusting the striped cropped top she had on. Evie also wore high waisted shorts except she had on a lace shirt and lastly Nicole wore shorts with a lace cropped top.

“Why am I the odd ball?” I walked in front of them to get to the sidewalk and turned my back to the party behind me. They all shrugged before turning me around and forcing my head in a particular direction making me groan in protest. “Is that Jeremy?” I turned to them and saw their mischievous expressions and started back towards the car.

“Dee c’mon it’s a big variety of people here so I doubt you have to talk to him, but didn’t you just got out with him?”

My feet stopped and my shoulders dropped hearing Evie behind me eventually made me turn and follow them into the crowded house where Chris Brown was blasting through the speakers. “I see Nathaniel Liv.” She pushed pass me making her way to him leaving us three to find the kitchen.

“C’mon I need a drink.”

“Nicki we just got here don’t drink just yet.”

“Fine then let’s go find where Liv and Nathaniel went.”

Brushing past all the bodies in the room wasn’t the most comfortable considering some of the guys were just leaning on the wall and had lingering hands once you passed. The backyard seemed like this is where the party began from twice as many people being out here, but I kept following Nicole once she spotted Liv. “Thanks for leaving us Evie.” She held her cup to her lips and smiled looking away.

“Damn Jordy.” The voice behind me made goose bumps appear on my arms as I spun around to come face to face with Jeremy. The smile on his face was breathtaking while he looked me up and down. My hands ached to run through his curly hair that I could tell he only ran his hands through before getting dressed.

“I didn’t know you were coming to our party.”

“Our?”

“Me and my roommates’.”

I faced Nicole, Evie, and Liv before responding back to him to see their backs turned to me. “Really clever.” I saw the smiles on their faces before looking at Jeremy again to find him smirking at me.

“Come dance with me.”

“Why?”

“Because I asked nicely and you’re my baby.”

“I’ll dance with you for the first one, take the second one and stash it for your many girlfriends.”

“You’re my only girlfriend.”  He pulled me to him as Differences came on and he wrapped his arms around my waist.
