Alec's POV
We got to the institute and I hadn't said a word. I was in shock. I walked to my room and sat on the end of my bed.
"Alec?" A voice asked. It was Izzy. She came and sat next to me. "Jace did what he had to do." Izzy told me. I nodded. "I'll go and make some dinner." She said. "You hungry?" She asked. I shook my head and she left the room. I then went to lie down and on my bedside table I saw a letter addressed to me. It read:
Dear Alec,
I am so sorry for everything. I needed the money and Maryse offered me this job and I took it without thinking but truth is I actually fell for you but I can't stop you from being who you are. You deserve Magnus you can't let me drive you away from him. You love him not me. Right now I should be on my way to England. I'm staying with a few friends. Don't come to find me. Live life and who knows maybe one day you and Magnus will have the perfect wedding and maybe I'll be there. I love you so much Alec. Don't let me down.

After reading this I broke down into tears. I cried for ages and I finally decided to listen to her words and I went over to Magnus' house. I didn't even knock and went straight in the find him standing in the lounge. I walked over quickly and smashed my lips against his. He kissed back and for once I knew I was happy. And it was all because of Mara.
