Chapter 13

Aaliyah's POV

16 weeks pregnant......
It's been 4 weeks since Caleb confessed his love for me. Today is the day we find out the gender of our baby and Caleb is behind excited, he is so excited he woke up at 5 in the morning cleaning.

"Caleb would you please calm down and come back to bed it's 6 in the morning and my appointment is not until 1." I yell through my condo so he can hear me

He walks in and smiles at me "I'm sorry baby girl I just can't wait to know what our baby is going to be." He says laying down next to me and putting his arms around me,

I smiled and wrapped my arms around his body and laid my head on his chest "I know but babe I've been thinking about something" I say rubbing my fingers alone his chest

"What are you thinking.....talk to me" He says kissing my head

"Maybe we shouldn't find out the gender" I say looking in his eyes

"What? Why not? Do you not want to know what we're having?" He ask siting up against my headboard

"No it's not that I just want to be surprised."

"What do you have in mind?"

"Maybe a gender reveal/ baby shower. Shay and Matt keep saying how they want to throw me a baby shower, so I thought why not give them permission with baby's gender."

"Ok but how would people know what to bring if they don't know the gender?" He says with a confused look on his face

I laughed "Shay and Matt can put it on the invitation but me and you will not know what our baby is until the gender reveal/baby shower." I say laying my head on his shoulder

"Okay we can do it anything for you." He says then kisses me

"Yay I call Shay and have her meet us at my doctors appointment." I say hopping out of bed to call Shay.

Shay, Caleb, and I were sitting in the waiting room waiting for my name to be called, "Oh my goodness I have so much planning to do." Shay says jumping in her seat.

I laughed "okay calm down we don't even know the...." I was cut off "Aaliyah Green" A nurse called my name, we all get up and follow her to a empty room.

We are put in an empty room I sit on the bed and Caleb and Shay sat in the chairs against the wall, we sat in silence for about 10 minutes until Dr. Kori came in. "Aaliyah it's good to see you." She says siting in the rolling chair.

"I'm good" I say smiling

"Okay today is the day you get to find out the gender." Dr. Kori says smiling

"About that can you write the gender down on a piece of paper and give it to Shay here because Caleb and I want to be surprised." I say smiling at Dr. Kori

Dr. Kori smiled and grabbed the things for the ultrasound "okay then Ms. Aaliyah lay back and lift up your dress." She says handed me a blue folded sheet to cover my bottoms.

She poured the gel on my expanding stomach and started to move the wand around, all of our eyes are stuck on the screen "awe look at my god baby, she is so tiny." Shay says wiping a tear from her eyes.

"How do you know its a she it can be a he." Caleb says challenging Shay

"Okay guys calm down, so Aaliyah and Caleb your baby is perfectly heathy, so daddy and bestfriend lets keep momma and baby heathy." Dr. Kori says handing me a paper towel.

"Okay I will be back with pictures and here you go Ms. Shay." She says handing Shay a folded piece of paper and then walked out the room.

"So I'm okay with you and Matt throwing me a baby/gender reveal but please don't go overboard and you have to make sure the gender is on the invitations so they know what to bring." I say getting down from the bed.

Shay smiled and nodded her head "okay here are pictures and I will be seeing you next month for another check up on you and baby's health." Dr. Kori says walking into the room.

"Thanks Dr. Kori" I say smiling as we left.

Shay's POV

I got in my car and immediately opened the folded paper to see the gender, once I seen the gender i screamed and jumped up and down in my seat.

While I was in my car listening to Kiss It Better by Rihanna on blast

I been waiting on the sunshine boy, I think need that back. Can get it like that, no one else gone do it like that.

So I argue, you yell which you take me back, who cares when its feels crap, when you know that you always do it right.

When my phone starts ringing through the car cutting the song, I seen it was Matt calling

"Hey hunny bunny" I say smiling

"Hey babes so what's going on." He says

"Aaliyah gave us the green light to throw a baby shower, but she wanted to add something." I say pulling over on the side bank because I was a little excited

I hear yell and scream over the phone "Yes I'm glad but what did she wanna add?"

"She want it to be a gender reveal/ baby shower." I pulling back onto the road

I laughed because I can hear Matt scream on the other end "Matt calm down but lets meet up so we can start planning and I can tell you the gender."

"Okay where?"

"Let's me at my house I bought food." I say pulling in my apartment building parking lot.

"Okay I'll be there right now" He says ending the call before I can bye.

I was getting paper and pen for Matt and I so we can start planning for Aaliyah, I walked in the kitchen to get a bottle of wine and two glasses. I just sat the glasses down when there's knock at the door, I opened the door to an anxious Matt.

He walks in "So what is Li having?" He says sitting at the table poring him some wine.

I smiled and walked to sit down, and he just looked at me "Shay what the hell is she having!" Matt says getting annoyed

I laughed "she's having girl" I say drinking some of wine

Matt jumps and down saying "I knew it I knew it"

"Okay come we need to start planning" I say giving a pen and paper

3 hours Later..........

Matt and I have got the venue together we got the themed and color, we have the games planned and the whole set up on how it go.

"So how would people know what to bring if they know gender?" Matt asked as we looked through invitations

"She said to put the gender on the invitations." I say scrolling through more invitations

"Oh okay so why have a gender reveal if everyone knows what their having?" Matt asked with a confused look on his face.

I laughed "Matt the gender reveal is for Caleb and Aaliyah, they will find out what they are having at the party." I say still laughing

He looked at me and cocked his head "okay I get it now so let's get these invites started." He says as we chose a invitation , so we can start sending them out.
