VAL's POV
Since our talk yesterday morning, I couldn't seem to get Jenna off my mind. During our show last night in Clearwater, there was a special extra electric feeling every time we danced together that night. It's December 31st and we're on our way to Atlanta, Georgia. Tonight is our last show before the new year.
I'm currently laying in my bunk playing around on my phone. Earlier I had overheard Sharna and Laurie talking about Jenna's newest blog post. I open up the internet on my phone and just stare at the 'Google' homepage for a moment. It's not an invasion of privacy or anything, anyone could read her blog, so why can't I? I finally find myself typing in the URL, www.getrewithjen.com. Once the page pops up, I take a deep breath and scroll down.'New Year, New You'
I start reading the first paragraph, which is mainly about the things that had happened to her in 2016. She talked about being a sytycd mentor, her body transformation, touring, and becoming a DWTS pro. However, once I get about halfway through, a certain few words hit me like a truck. 'heart wrenching breakup'. I find myself staring at my phone screen, reading that same sentence over and over again, 'I went through a heart wrenching breakup'. I can't seem to move pass those words for a moment. I am soon finally able to finish reading the first paragraph, but that's as far as I get. I decide I had read enough. I turn my phone off, toss my phone aside. 'Heartwrenching Breakup' echoes in my mind. I bury my face in my pillow and let out a muffled 'ugh' in frustration.
"Val?" I hear Laurie's voice call from the other side of my bunk curtain. "Are you okay?" She asks peeking through the curtains. "No" I say, my voice still muffled by my pillow. "Why? What's wrong?" She asks me. I then fully sit up in my bunk and push the curtains open all the way. "I'm an idiot Nugget! That's why!" I shout in frustration. The shock on her face from my shouting made me feel like even more of an asshole. "Nugget, I'm sorry" I say softening my tone, realizing I was getting carried away. "I didn't mean to yell at you, I'm just-" "Frustrated with yourself?" She asks, finishing my thought. "Yeah" I say looking away from her. "So do something about it. Rather than just hiding in your bunk all day, beating your self up. Get up, get out, and get her back." I sit there for a moment, taking her words into careful consideration. "How?" I ask her in a defeated tone. "Easy, you just have to try harder Val. Starting with tonight, it's New Year's! You should plan something, but not just for you and Jenna, for the whole group, you have to ease back into your friendship, you can't rush it." "Okay, thanks, Lil' Nugget. I think I have the perfect idea." I say with a smile of excitement taking over my face.
Laurie goes to the front of the bus with everyone else, but I stay in my bunk. I'm going to put together the perfect night.

JENNA's POV
The Atlanta show has come to an end and all of us girls are changing in the dressing room. "It felt so good to be back tonight!" Hayley says. "It was so good having you back!" I say. "Yeah, we all missed you so much" Laurie says. "Things definitely aren't the same without you." Emma chimes in. "Aw, I love you guys. So, what'd I miss?" Hayley asked. "Nothingggg" Sharna said, dragging out the word in a high pitched tone. "Real subtle, Shar" I sarcastically snap at my redheaded scissor sister. "What happened with Val?" Hayley asks looking straight at me.
LAURIE's POV
The girls start talking about Brittany's video, and Jenna and Val's talk, and everything. My phone chime breaks me out of my thought. 'One New Text: Big Bro #2' 'Are you guys almost ready?'-Val. "Guys, we should probably get going to the buses, we don't want to be late." I say, breaking up their current conversation about Val. With that, we all finish changing, grab our stuff, and head out to the buses.
JENNA's POV
We soon arrive at a Russian Restaurant, and I am in awe. I wouldn't have wanted to ring in the New Year with anyone but my DWTS Live family. Val had truly arranged a perfect night. Maybe he really is staying true to his promise, he's trying harder.
The whole night was absolutely incredible, so incredible that it actually flew by. Before I knew it Emma was waltzing around the table with her camera yelling out "8 more minutes, guys!"
Eight minutes later, the countdown begins. "5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Happy New Year!" We all shout as the clock hits midnight. The couples of the group, Torrey and Artem, Lindsay and Sam, and Laurie's parents all exchange kisses. Meanwhile, the rest of us all cheer and celebrate, walking around the table hugging everyone.
As I'm doing my hug rounds, I approach Hayley (who, surprise, surprise, is taking an InstaStory, they're everywhere) and find myself side by side with Valentin Chmerkovskiy.
Hayley hugs him first and he gives her a friendly kiss on her cheek. She then turns and hugs me, giving me and extra squeeze before she walks over towards Torrey and Artem. Hence, leaving me alone, with Val.
VAL's POV
I went over to hug Ems, I then move next to her to hug Hayley and wish her a 'Happy New Year' as well, but it looked like Jenna had the same idea. Hayley is a smart girl, she quickly hugs us both and she soon leaves us standing there, just the two of us, thanks Hayles.
"Uh, Happy New Year, Jen" I say sounding a little more awkward than I was hoping for. "Happy New Year, Val" she says with a smile. I was slightly caught off guard however, when she reached out towards me and wrapped her arms around me. Although the hug was brief, it was nice, and it didn't feel awkward at all. In fact, it felt as natural and normal as ever.
Being so overwhelmed from Jenna's presence, I was about to step away from her when her voice quickly stopped me. "Val?" "Yeah, Jen?" "Thank you, for tonight. You truly did an amazing job at arranging the perfect night." I says with a genuine smile on her face. "My pleasure. I figured we could all just use a nice time to relax, spend time with one another, and ring in the New Year." I say smiling back at her. "Well, I couldn't think of a better way to welcome the New Year." Jenna says in a shy voice as she places a kiss on my cheek and quickly rushes off to join the girls on the dance floor. I didn't realize how much I've missed her kisses, but now I realize, I've missed them a lot.
