JENNA's POV
It's now January 16th, the day before we get to perform at a place where people only dream about performing at, Radio City Music Hall.
Today, everyone in the cast has the day off, this is, everyone, but me. As the tour dance captain, my work is never done. In other words, that means meetings, lots and lots of meetings.
In addition to performing at Radio City Music Hall tomorrow, we will also be performing on Good Morning America, to help promote the DWTS Live Tour. I'm currently at GMA discussing the performance we have in store for tomorrow and going over all the other details.
Once I finished talking to the producers, the last thing I had to do was to do a quick run though of the dance. I'm going to mark the dance for them to give both the producers and the camera crew an idea of what to expect the following morning.
I prepare myself in the center of the GMA stage and listen for the music to start, but I hear a familiar voice call to me instead. "Go Twin!" I whirl around to find Ginger Zee walking into the large room. "Hi Twin!" I squeal in response to her initial greeting. "Come dance with me!" I say after I had ran up to her, embracing her in a giant hug. I return to my spot just as the sound guy begins playing the music. "Okay!" I hear Ginger say, as she slips her coat off. The next thing I know, she's dancing by my side, attempting to copy my every move. I love that girl so much. I'm explaining the routine to the producers as I go, but catching sight of Ginger causes me to release a few giggles. Aside from the slight distraction, I am somehow able to regain my focus.
Once my meeting is over, Ginger and I decided to go out to lunch together to catch up. The start of lunch was great, and by great, I mean that the topic of Val has yet to come up. We talked about how tour was going, the upcoming DWTS season, and how big Adrian was getting. "So, uh, how's everything going with Val being on tour?" She asks glancing up at me and then back down at the chicken she was currently working on cutting. Damnit, spoke too soon. "It's going fine" I say with a shrug, staring down at my salad. "Just fine?" She questions me, glancing up at me yet again, but this time keeping her eyes on me. I stay silent for a moment, continuing to stare down at my salad. "Jenna Michelle! Spill." She says causing me to let out a sigh and finally bring my eyes up to meet hers. "Okay, maybe it's a little more than just fine...more like great....or amazing even! Ginge, things between Val and I are starting to feel like what they used to be." I uncontrollably gush but quickly turn serious "Things feeling like they used to can be dangerous though." "But you guys are rebuilding your friendship!Things going back to normal is a good thing, isn't it?" Ginger asks, slightly confused. "No, it's not good, it's terrifying. Things going back to normal between Val and I, remind me of why I fell for him in the first place. It makes me realize how much I miss him. Ginger, I miss him like crazy and it scares me to death." "Have you said anything to Val about it?" "No!" I quickly shout, but immediately regain my composure. "I mean-we've talked, we've had a lot of talks actually. And the talks were great, but I haven't said those exact words to him." I reveal. "Jenna, have you ever maybe stopped to think that he may share the same feelings as you?" She questions me. "I don't have to ask him Gin, I know exactly how he feels." "How?" "He's with Amber, that's how! He's moved on and I just have to deal with it and move on too."
I swore Ginger to secrecy and made her promise not to tell Val anything from conversation we had just shared. Once we finished our lunch, said our 'goodbyes' and went our separate ways.
THE NEXT DAY
JENNA's POV
For Good Morning America, there's a 4:30am call. The whole DWTS Live cast was here, except for Laurie, Alan, and Hayley. The majority of us are all in a dressing room, lounge area, minus two. Val was catching up with Ginger and Emma was in the hallway, on the phone with Sasha.
GINGER's POV
"I know I'm not the only one who sees it, right Ems?" I ask. Jenna had dropped a big load of her true feelings on me yesterday and I had to tell someone. I was sworn to secrecy as far as telling Val goes, so when I happened to bump into Emma in the hallway, I took full advantage of it. The two of us sat down on a nearby bench and I let myself loose. I explained everything to her that Jenna had told me the day prior. "Thanks for listening Ems" I tell her when my rant finally comes to an end. "No problem Ginger, I'm always happy to listen." "Just please promise me that you won't tell Jenna that I told you." I requested. "I promise I won't say a word." She says smiling at me. "Speak of the devil." Emma says, giving off a nod with her eyes focused on someone behind me. My heart stops for a moment, expecting to find Jenna standing behind me, fuming. Instead, I turn around just in time for Val to appear from around the corner. Out of the blue, an idea pops into my head. "Hey, Emma, I'll talk to you later, okay?" "Okay, I'm waiting for Sash to call me anyways, so I'll see you later" she says, remaining on the bench and I stand up and make my way over towards Val. "Val!" I call out.
VAL's POV
"Val!" I turn my head to see my season 22 partner running towards me. "Hi Ginger!" I say giving her a hug. "Where are you headed?" She asks me. "I was just headed down to craft service to grab a coffee." I answer her. "I could go for a coffee too! Mind if I join you?" "Yeah, of course!" We spend the walk down catching up with one another, mainly telling cute stories about Adrian and Shai. When we reach craft service, we both grab a coffee. Once we have our coffees in hand, we start heading back upstairs, and continue on with our conversation. "So, how has tour been so far?" Ginger asks. "It's been amazing! This tour is for sure leading up to be our best tour yet!"
GINGER's POV
"That's great!" I say, taking a brief pause, I then decide to just go for it. "So you and Jenna seem to be doing alright." I say, coming off a little more eager than I intended. "Yeah actually, things have been going really well between us, almost like we're getting back to how things used to be." "Aw, that's great Val!" I say as a smile spreads across my face. "Yeah, I've really missed her." He softly said with a sigh as he stared down at the ground. "She missed you too." I whispered. "What!?" He spoke in a mildly shocked tone. "What did you say Ginger?" He repeated. Val had now stopped dead in his tracks and was fully facing me. "I-um-said-I-I've missed you two, all of you, ya know, my DWTS family. I love it when you guys come around." I sputter out, making up my words as I go.
VAL's POV
"She missed you too." Ginger whispers, almost to the point where I couldn't hear her, but to her amazement, I caught it. "What?!" I ask, freezing for a moment to then become face-to-face with her. "I-um-said-I-I've missed you two, all of you, ya know, my DWTS family, I love it when you guys come around." Ginger says, attempting to cover up the words she had just let slip.
I silently argue with myself on whether I should just let it go or not. The echoing of her words in my head disrupt my thought process. 'She missed you too' played through my mind on a continuous loop. 'Had Jenna really told Ginger that she missed me? Wait, I'm with Amber, I shouldn't be thinking about Jenna this much. But, I can't help it. I quickly lose the argument with myself, I needed to know.
"Did Jenna tell you that?" I finally bring myself to ask her. "Tell me what?" Ginger questions, appearing to do her best at coming off as being unaware of what exactly I was asking her. "Did Jenna really tell you that she misses me?" The hopefulness in my voice couldn't be more obvious, but at this point, I wasn't interested in trying to hide my hope any longer. "Val..." She says with a small sigh as we start walking down to hall again. "I can't talk about that, I've already said way too much."
GINGER's POV
"Ginger, please." Val begs, his green eyes pleading with me. In an attempt to avoid making eye contact with Val, I happen to glance down the hallway. I immediately spot Emma, on the exact bench I had left her on. Emma was now lounged out on the bench talking to someone on the phone. I figured that 'someone' was most like Sasha, and as we got closer, my assumption is proven to be true. "Okay, I love you too, bye Sash!" Emma says, hanging up her phone. She then rises up off of the bench, shoving her phone in her front pocket of her pants in the process. "Hey guys!" She says in her usual cheery, British accent.
It was right then and there that I made a split second decision in my head. Looking straight at Emma, I take a deep breath and reveal my final decision. "Maybe you should ask Emma about it". I blurt out. Emma's eyes urgently look up at mine. "Are you sure?" She mouths to me. I brake eye contact with her for a moment as I direct my attention towards Val. "Val? Could you give us a second and go wait on that bench over there?" I ask of him. "Y-yeah, okay." A clearly anxious Val sighs, making his way over to the bench I had just motioned towards.
"He fees the exact same way Jenna that feels about him." I can see that she could use a little more convincing, so I continue on. "Ems, they're better off together and you and I both know it. They both have a right to know. I'll talk to Jenna, but I can't talk to Val. I promised Jenna that I would not say anything to him, but you didn't." After I finish my reasoning, for my sudden decision, Emma just stands there for a moment, staring at me. "Okay" she finally says, giving in as she turns on her heels and walks to join Val on the bench. As I leave Emma and Val alone to talk, my mind is racing. 'He has a right to know' I say over and over again in my head, assuring myself that I was making the right choice.
VAL's POV
"Val? Could you give us a second and go wait on that bench over there?" Ginger asks me. "Okay" I say, doing a terrible job of hiding the great deal of anxiousness in my voice.
I sit down on the bench that Ginger had directed me towards. My hands anxiously rub back and forth on my lap as my legs begin to bounce eagerly. The longer I sit there watching Ginger and Emma talk back and forth, the more my nerves seem to get to me and the harder it gets for me to sit still. Their conversation soon comes to an abrupt pause. They simply stand there and stare at one another for a moment. Their intense stare down is soon broken when Emma turns away from Ginger in a huff. With a defeated sort of look on her face, she starts heading my way.
EMMA's POV
I sit down next to Val and take a deep breath. 'He deserves to know' I say to myself as I lift my eyes up off the ground. Once I catch sight of the nervousness and hopefulness in Val's eyes, I feel myself soften my gaze on him. "Don't speak, just listen" I start by saying, causing Val's ears to perk up and his posture to straighten. It's clear to see his eagerness was growing with every word that came out of my mouth. "I'm not going to repeat myself." I pause, before I continue with the words he had been craving to hear. "Her feelings match yours, Val." His eyes lock into mine. "She misses you too." I simply state before my phone starts ringing. A sense of relief falls over me as I check my call I.D. Sasha. He always had the best timing. "If you really are serious about her Val, fix it, before it's too late."
