JENNA's POV "Morning Jen!" My roommate greets me as I walk into the kitchen. "Good Morning!" I respond, pulling a pitcher of orange juice out of the fridge. "I'm making eggs, bacon, and toast, want some?" She asks me as she watches over a sizzling pan of bacon. "Yes please!" I respond pouring a glass of juice for each of us. "So what's the plan for you today?" Brittany questions, transferring the freshly whisked eggs into another pan. "I have my ET interview today." I remind her. "Oh yeah! I forgot about that!" She says as we sit down at our kitchen table and begin to eat our breakfast. Once we finish, I help Brittany clean up and then go get myself ready for my interview. "Goodluck with your interview Jen!" Brittany calls to me when I inform her that I was leaving. "Thanks Britt." I shout back to her as I walk out our apartment door.
"There she is! Jenna Johnson!" A man greets me as I step onto the ET set. "Cameron! How have you been?" I ask as he engulfs me in a hug. Cameron was on DWTS season 5 with Edyta. It was way before my time on the show, but after his season, he always remained close with the show. Another interviewer came out, this time a female. We all settled ourselves down on couches and the interview began. At first, all was going well. They asked me about some usual stuff like why I decided to take a break from DWTS, would I be back next season, what other projects have I been working on, and my thoughts on the season 24 premiere. Then, out of nowhere, they hit me like a train. "So, you dating anyone now?" The woman asks. 'Oh no, play it cool Jenna. You got this. Think it over. Do I say I'm single? No. I don't want to say that, Val and I aren't officially dating again, but I don't want to say I'm completely single either. Think Jenna...' Then it suddenly all clicks. Speak the truth. "Figuring it out." I confidently say, not fully the truth but also not fully a lie. Just somewhere in between.
The rest of the interview continued and all was well. They asked me who I thought would for sure be in the finals, but I didn't want to come off completely obvious, so I went with a different obvious choice first, my bubbly, blonde bestie. "I could definitely see David and Lindsay in the finals, he's such a fan favorite, I'd actually be surprised if he didn't make it." I state, explaining my case. "I also think we'll be seeing Normani and Val in the finals along with Heather and Maks." I say, casually putting Val in there. "Both Normani and Heather have such a natural way about them when they dance." "And they have the Chmerkovskiy brothers as their partners." They added. I choose to lightly smile in agreement. We talked a little bit about Val as a dancer, but nothing more. I think everything went rather smoothly, I decide as the interview comes to an end. I say my goodbyes and make my way home.
VAL's POV "I'll see you later Val!" Normani calls as she rushes out of the room we were practicing in. She was off to do a little press before her and the girls had tech rehearsals for their show tonight. I, on the other hand, decided to go back to my hotel room for a little down time while I had the chance. I make it to my room and crash onto my bed. Opening up Instagram, I begin to scroll through the thousands of notifications that were consistently popping up on my phone screen. Suddenly, one fan post catches me eye.
