Chapter 24 The Next Morning

I don't remember going home that night.

All I could recall was waking up sore and tired.

I felt beneath me and it was rough and hard.

I open my heavy eyes to see myself in the garden.

I was still naked and my clothes were under my head.

I quickly put them on and looked around for Max.

I went in the backyard where I saw a shed and fire pit.

By the back steps I saw a big blue tarp and something moved underneath it.

Max's head popped out and she looked just as daze eyed as me.

I grabbed her clothes that were next to mine and let her change.

Going back inside Emma came out of the kitchen with cereal.

Once she saw us her spoon froze half way out of her mouth.

Then she busted up laughing.

Max and I went upstairs leaving Emma to laugh herself to death.

We went in our room to get fresh clothes and then to take a shower.

After our clean up we called Jordan to tell Jonny and Skylur to come over.

We needed to talk about why I turned gold and if I will say that way.

"Where's Yuki?" Max asked as we waited for our friends.

"I don't know, maybe she's outside somewhere," I said.

A knock at our door made us jump, Skylur, Jonny, and Jordan walked in.

Jordan was holding a dirt cover Yuki.

She jumped down out of her arms and on her bed.

Max sat in her beanbag, Jonny took the floor, Jordan sat on the bottom bunk, Skylur stayed standing so I climbed up on my bed.

They looked just as tired as us, we all had bags under our eyes and even after a shower still smelled like grass and dirt.

"So dose that always happen during a full moon?" I asked.

"Every time," said Skylur, "but we don't turn gold."

"Yeah why did you turn gold?" Asked Jonny, "I thought you were brown."

"Me too,"I said, " I don't know why I went from brown to gold."

"Well there had to be some reason." Said Max.

"Why don't we go to the town library?" Jonny said.

"I guess we could find something about gold wolves." Said Skylur.

I looked around to see us all in agreement.

"Let's do it."
