Chapter Twenty Two (unedited)

"Jackass!"

"You threw your fucking shoe on my head- get it yourself"

"I said get it!"

Fifteen minutes later, I found myself surrounded in the bed of flowers, frantically and stupidly scavenging for my missing shoe since dirt bag over here threw it somewhere I can't find it. I was currently smudged in dirt all over my knee with my hands pricked and numb from the constant move to side away the flowers that hid my shoe, and as time passed on, it was still missing

Huffing in annoyance, I turned towards Chris who was watching me with an amused expression "why don't you bring your ass over here and find that shoe you threw!" Chris didn't reply, instead he laughed it off like he just loved watching me suffer and I huff in weary. I wasn't going anywhere, in fact- I don't know I had walked farther then I thought. This was why I shouldn't have threw something to a strong armed men himself. I barley know where the shoe fell now

tired, I sat on my knees, the flowers hiding me from everyone's view. I was too tired to care about one shoe anyway. I can go home with my socks- screw Chris and his pathetic jokes. I wasn't going to find this shoe for hours

"Checkers" I heard Chris call out but I didn't reply. Let him find me if he wants, I wasn't gonna come out with my legs ready to fall out. Looking down, I inspected my legs that now sported scratches from their twigs and stems. They weren't really maintained if I say and as I sat in quiet and contemplating my life on why I decided to agree to come here with Chris was putting my mind to agree that I am in fact stupid

"Checkers?"

My shoe is dirty

"Hey checkers come on"

Sighing, I tried to at least make it look decent. I mean, I may go home with muddy socks, might as well look at least a little decent

"Okay Salmon, I'm serious where are you?"

"Don't get your panties in a twist. Sheesh" Annoyed, I began to clean myself before I stood. I was now a mess and clearly dusting myself off is completely useless. Giving out another sigh, I look up only to furrow my eyebrows when I saw Chris, off the path and into the flower pool like me. His eyes searched frantically like a lost boy until they stop when they met mine. I was shock to say when those eyes were pooled in relief and anger as he stared. He didn't hesitate to walk towards me before pulling me off the flowers before I destroy them all

"Talk when you're called" he demanded.

"Sorry dad, I was too busy looking for my shoe while you were busy being an ass" I sarcastically said before storming off towards the exit. We had to come home before midnight for Damien's and Aubrey's sake and looking for my shoes was taking a lot of time. Finding it was useless anyway

"Checkers" I didn't reply. I was to moody to care or answer him. If he wants to be an ass might as well be a bitch. When I didn't give a reply back when he called my name once again, I was stop shortly when I took another step, only to look down where I found Chris kneeling before me, his hands untangling the laces of my shoe

What does he want now?!

Seeing that he was taking my only shoe, I began to panic. What was he going to do with it? It's my only pair and he wants to throw it too?

"Chris, stop! Just- just don't touch me!" I shove him hard, luckily he fell of his ass and glared at me but no matter what he kneeled once again and took my shoes off silently

I didn't even realize, with all my struggle and all the tightening my heels to prevent the shoe from coming off was useless because a matter of second it was long off my feet
