A deep rumbling could be hard from the distance. After living near the rock quarry for so long it was easy to mistaken the sound for an explosion but no longer living by the quarry made it obvious that it couldn't possibly be that. It could only be thunder. The pitter patter of rain on the window pane made it seem obvious that it was thunder but after farther inspection there was indeed no rain. What could it really be?
