Dan was twenty eight.
The sky was unfittingly clouded over and grey, the same ugly shade as the building he was currently leaving for the last time. Finally.
After four years, he had finally gotten his degree in photography. He wasn't totally sure what he was going to do with it, but he was certainly glad he had it, considering he hadn't even been sure he'd be able to go to a post secondary school.
He reached the end of the long gravel drive leading up to the small school and noticed PJ standing there next to his car, waiting for him.
"See you, Dan!" he heard a voice call from behind him, and he turned to give a quick wave to the classmate who had said it.
Once he had turned back though, he thought, wrong word. He wasn't good at keeping connections with friends, and knew he would probably never talk to the boy again. It should have been a goodbye.
"You did it! You graduated! I'm proud of you, Dan," PJ said, clapping him on the back as soon as he had reached him.
"Thanks," Dan smiled back, getting in the passenger door.
"So, what're you going to do now?" his friend asked as he too got in the car.
"I'm not totally sure."
"I'm sure you'll figure something out," he reassured him, starting the car and beginning the drive home.
