The woods smelt of fresh blooming flowers and new winds. I had always loved walking through and enjoying nature. Although I was out looking for a meal, I couldn't help but take it slow and enjoy the scenery. Birds were chirping and flying up above. I heard the flick of a fishtail in a stream nearby. My heightened senses were one of the best perks of being a vampire. I enjoyed being able to see the true colors of the forest and smell a daisy miles away. My hearing was the best though. If I focused hard enough I could hear the traffic over twenty miles away in the nearby town. A rabbit nearby caused me to snap out of my haze. I crept slowly towards the oblivious animal avoiding every twig and branch. I was about to lurch onto the rabbit when something snapped to the right of me. The rabbit stopped eating and its ears perked up. A second later it dashed away. I was infuriated as I whipped my head to the right, but the feeling was instantly replaced with fear. Dark grey eyes stared into my soul. Its fur was pitch black, and the aura it let off was frightful. It was a wolf.
