After hearing what Kody had told Sully, I turned around, spotting the dude she had mentioned standing on the balcony with a gun pointed in my direction. Where I'm from, it was shoot or die - so, my first thought was to pop him before he got me. I started to reach for my pistol but, by that time, it was too late. A gunshot sounded throughout the club. I knew it wasn't Sully shooting, because our shit had silencers.

I thought that was the end for me. I knew for a fact that, that bullet had my name on it. My heart stopped for a second, then I was quickly pulled down to the floor. I kept my eyes on the unknown nigga, seeing his head snap back before he fell backwards, indicating that he'd been hit. Loud screams of females erupted throughout the club. I looked down at myself to see that I was free of injuries. Bullet didn't even graze my ass.

"Fuck." I whispered, letting out a sigh of relief. Shit was close. I felt a pair of soft hands cup my face. I looked up to see that it was Kody. She had pretty much saved my life. Had she not been there, that nigga would have sent me to my maker.

She caressed my jaw line, "You're ok." She gave me a subtle smile. I didn't even know what to say, but at that moment I had a newfound appreciation and respect for her. Sully, Trey, Rex and Deuce ran over to us. At that point, the music had been silenced and everybody was trying to figure out what the fuck was going on. Since majority of the people in attendance were used to gunplay and violence, nobody really seemed too alarmed or phased by the gunshot - besides the groupie, money hungry bitches that had come out solely to find them some niggas to leech off of for the night.

"You straight, man? You ain't hit, huh?" Sully asked, pulling me from the floor. They looked me over carefully.

"Nah, man - I'm good. Nigga almost got me, though, bruh." I gritted my teeth at the thought, while I straightened my blazer. Muh'fuckas really had it out for me. First Keith bitch ass, and then some dude I ain't even recognize.

Deuce shook his head, "Kody saved your ass, son. Ain't nobody else see that nigga up there. Sully put a hot one in his head just in time, though."

I nodded. We all looked over to Kody whose attention rested on the crowd as she fumbled with her clutch, trying to quickly get it open. I wrinkled my forehead, "The hell you doin', Kody?" I asked, seeing her grab the handgun I'd given her for the night. She was far too focused on whatever had her attention, so she didn't answer.

Dutchess and the other girls came running over, pushing through the crowd. Kody cocked the gun, tossing the clutch to Sevyn and with that she took off. As if her ass didn't have on heels and a dress. I grabbed my gun and ran behind her, with the rest of the crew following suit. If one made a move - shit, we all made a move.

We eventually caught up to her in the middle of the dance floor. She had the gun to the back of some big nigga's head, holding him by his shirt. I assumed it was the same dude she'd said had been looking suspicious by the DJ booth. I pointed my gun at him, along with everybody else in my crew who had a firearm handy.

"And where the fuck did you think you were goin'?" She asked with a mean ass mug on her face. I couldn't help but notice how sexy she looked with my gun in her hand. Maybe I'd underestimated her. She was getting action her first night, and she was handling it better than I could've ever thought.

"Yo, who this?" Rex asked her with his Ruger loaded, cocked and aimed, ready to light big boy up if necessary. My eyes never left the smirk the dude had plastered on his face.

"That's what I'm trying to figure out. I think the shooter was his homeboy. He had been checkin' for him all night, lookin' sketchy as hell. And when Sully took him out, he tried to make a run for it." She tightened her grip on his shirt. "Ain't that right?" She asked the unknown nigga. He just smiled, snickering.
