Nathan pulled up to the store and unbuckled his seat belt
"so what are you getting? a nice,sexy dress?" he leaned back and looked at you with that dumb,eat shit smirk

you rolled your eyes
"I don't think so, Prescott."

"what? why not?" he chuckled

"just give me the money and I'll find something cheap?" you held your hand out to him

"oh? you trying to keep it a surprise for me?~" he chuckled

you rolled your eyes again
"yeah. sure."

"alright then," he handed you some money,80 dollars to be exact. You took out 40 and handed it back.

"there's no way I'm spending that much." you unbuckled your seatbelt and opened the car door, Nathan seemed kind of surprised by you.
You got out of the car and went into the store. You looked around quickly to find something cute, and something that might be accepted by the vortex club. Something that might be accepted by Nathan? Not that it really mattered what he thought it's just he is the leader of the vortex club or whatever and he is buying. You picked out the cheapest thing that you could match together,paid, and got back to the car. You got back in to see Nathan on his phone.

"You back already?"

"Yeah," you gave back his change "why'd you take me to such an expensive place?"

he shrugged "it's not that expensive."

"Not that expensive?! I saw a hoodie for  60 dollars! the clothes were cute but holy shit," he chuckled at you "oh...maybe it's because you're rich...huh?"

he shrugged in response
"guess we should head back and get ready for the party?"

"yeah. we should."

After leaving your dorm's showers you went to get dressed and do your hair and makeup, you didn't own much makeup and you didn't do it often. You put on your eyeliner, making sure you had the perfect winged look. You put on a natural lipstick color and put on your outfit

you brushed your hair and looked in the mirror, your outfit didn't look that bad. It could've been worse..? You finished doing your hair and makeup. You felt anxious but you were willing to take on whatever this night was going to throw at you. You slipped on your shoes and heard a knock on your door,  you opened it to see Kate in a pretty blouse and a skirt with a sweater thrown over.

"Kate! you look so pretty!" you smiled and gave her a quick hug

"You too...your outfit is really nice. I could never pull that off." she smiled

"Are you ready?"

"yeah..let's go." you grabbed your phone before leaving.

you, Kate, and her friends finally arrived to the party. The music was blasting and it was kind of dark,you looked around and noticed a few people already drunk or high.

"wow these people don't waste time." you looked at Kate,she laughed at your comment

"I'm gonna go find Alyssa...we'll meet back up soon?" she asked

"yeah...be careful."

"you too." she smiled and walked off

You looked around for Nathan...not that you liked him but you didn't know anyone else here. You noticed the VIP section and walked up to the bouncer.
" excuse me." you tried to walk past

"sorry you're not aloud in."

"I think I'm on the list though, I'm
(Y/N) (Y/L/N)," you tapped the clipboard in the guy's hand, he took a quick look and looked at you;shaking his head, "you didn't even check!"

"didn't see your name,you don't get in."

"that's too bad (Y/N)~" Victoria sarcastically said as she pushed you aside and made her way in

"Fuck you too , Victoria!~" you yelled to her in a sweet manner

The bouncer grabbed your arm
"if you don't go now I'll have to escort you."

"That won't be necessary." Nathan walked out of the door behind the guy, he quickly let go of you

"are you sure Nathan? Victoria said not to let her in.."

"well I'm saying she can come in." Nathan put his arm around you and walked into the VIP section with you

"hey, Prescott." you looked at him

"Hey, you look super hot in that outfit, are you sure you don't want to take off your jacket?" he lifted the jacket off your shoulder

"Yes." you quickly pulled the jacket back over you

"What's the matter...you nervous?"

"no. I'm fine." you said but the truth was you were kind of nervous, partying just wasn't your thing and you felt like you didn't fit in with this kind of crowd.

"cmon..chill," he sat you down on the couch " want something to drink..?"

"sure..." you looked around
Nathan nodded and walked off

"wow. I didn't think you could look anymore disgusting..but seeing that outfit on you.." Victoria laughed and so did the girls with her as they approached you

"Oh hey, Bitchtoria..!" you smiled and waved sarcastically

"Who the fuck let you in?"

"Nathan Prescott, actually."

"Nathan..?" she looked surprised " no fucking way." she stormed off, probably to go look for him.
you chuckled at her reaction and sat back, taking in your surroundings.

"I'm back." Nathan sat beside you and handed you a drink

"um...what's this?" you looked into your cup

"beer." he raised an eyebrow

"what do you have..?" you held your head up to peek into his cup

"beer." he looked confused "do you want something else..."

"uh...no its fine. " you took a sip

"...have you ever done or seen drugs before?" he looked at you

"um...does Tylenol or cough syrup count?"

he laughed "you serious?"

"nah...I'm just joking. Um..once, nothing crazy..I've tried weed I guess. not on purpose but..." you shrugged

"just asking because you don't look too comfortable.. "

"I'm fine."
you took another drink and noticed a commotion on the other side of the room, you noticed a crowd beginning to gather around Kate. You put down your drink quickly and went to go see what was happening, you were appalled by what you saw..not because she was some girl kissing a bunch of guys but because the girl was Kate. You knew that this wasn't Kate, not the one you knew. You pushed through the crowd.
"Kate what's wrong with you? what happened...wha..what are you doing..?" you held onto her, she looked dazed and intoxicated.
"Kate I'm taking you back to your dorm," you pushed through the crowd

"This is serious...I'll take her to the hospital." Nathan walked up behind you and grabbed onto Kate gently

" I should take her."

"What? why can't I? you don't trust me or something? I care about Kate just as much as you do and I know this is not her." he looked at you with a serious expression and you nodded

"okay...just...be careful..."

"you should get back to your dorm...I want you to be safe."

"oh,okay. I'll call you, I want to know how things are going."
you helped Nathan get Kate to his car,you sat her in the passenger side and buckled her seat belt.
"Everything is going to be okay, Kate." you said to her even though she didn't seem aware of anything

Nathan furrowed his eyebrows in worry as he looked at you and then at Kate
"I'll bring her back safe." he waved as you closed Kate's door and backed away from the car. After they drove off you headed back to your dorm.
