Caleb's POV
~
Oh no

Oh no

Oh no

Now, not only was Caleb being attacked by Klaus, but, he had also just shot Al.

Oh no

On no

Oh no

This is not good! He thinks as the larger vampire snaps his fangs in his face and growls.

"I'm going to kill you!" He yells in Caleb's face. His eyes are completely red and black veins now protrude from underneath them.

Caleb ponders the situation.

Technically, he supposes, I could let him kill me

Through a space between his body and Klaus's he looks over at the dying body of the girl who he had come to like over the past few hours. She was kind hearted and genuine. If he had actually killed her tonight he would never be able to live with himself. Not to mention she would most likely kill him before he got the chance to explain what had happened. It was true, Al was important to the Resistance and she needed to be brought back home.

Why? He still did not have the slightest clue for sure, but now, things were starting to piece together a little more for him inside of his head.

Maybe it would be better to die now than die as soon as I get home? He ponders.

In a flash Klaus's has his head pinned to the side. His face is pressed hard and flatly against the cold wooden floor.

"There's no one to stop me this time." Klaus's says lowly in a harsh voice.

"Guess not." Caleb shrugs and attempts to relax as much as he can. Death his probably going to be a painful experience. He thinks. Maybe if I just relax-

"Are you not afraid?" Klaus asks. His eyes make contact with Caleb's and for a moment he sees indecisiveness within them.

An idea presents itself in his head.

"Well, Klausy." He begins with the name he knows will catch the attention of the real Klaus. "If you don't kill me now, I'm just going to get killed by someone else eventually. You should be honored!"

Klaus narrows his eyes in suspicion. "You want me to kill you?"

"Of course! We are friends after all!" Caleb says with a smile."If anyone's gotta kill me I'd rather it be you than anyone else."

"Why do I feel like you're playing a game with me?"

Caleb gasps dramatically."I am so not playing a game, man! I respect you as a friend and I am therefore letting you kill me."

Caleb hopes that he is reaching Klaus. After Al explained to him the purpose of friendship and trust he couldn't help but feel this urgent need to return the man to his normal state. Al had taught him that there was a good man underneath the new and cold exterior. He wanted to believe that Klaus could be saved but his comrades would only kill him on sight if they arrived and found Caleb lying dead on the floor. He had to buy himself some time.

"Caleb, you're being rather difficult right now." Klaus says while releasing some of the pressure that he has put on Caleb's neck allowing him to breathe a little easier. "Do you want me to kill you or not?"

Caleb's eyes widen at the use of his name. Maybe he was actually doing something right?

"Honestly?" Caleb asks.
