Maya Hart
I stretched my arms and turned to my side. I opened my eyes slowly and let out a yelp when I saw Justin laying next to me, awake. I slowly moved away and Justin spoke up. "No! Don't move—"
I fell on my bed and landed on my ass. I winced as I massaged my butt as I heard Justin laugh. I shot him a glare as he clutch his stomach from laughing so much.
"Shut up Justin," I said weakly as I stood up from the floor. I frowned as I realized that I woke up on my bed and not on the floor. I looked at Justin, who stopped laughing, with wide eyes. I hugged my body and Justin's eyebrows knitted.
"Did you took advantage of me?" I asked and Justin's eyes widen for a second before chuckling. This time, it's my time to frown at him. "I didn't know you're this hilarious, Maya," he said and shook his head.
"No. I didn't took advantage of you. I just felt guilty because you're the one who cured me and yet you're the one sleeping on the floor. So when I woke up a while ago, I lifted you up to your bed," Justin explained and he sat up from my bed. My arms slowly went to my side and I nodded.
"By the way, your bed hair looks awesome Maya. It's like you don't need to style it everyday," Justin said and my eyes widen again. I feel like I'm turning into a koala in a matter of seconds because of my eyes always bulging.
I ran to my bathroom and cleaned up. I tied my hair into a messy bun and brushed my teeth. When I look descent enough I walked out the bathroom. Justin is grinning at me and I pursued my lips together.
"Are you hungry? I can cook you some pancakes," I said and he nodded. I grabbed my phone before we descend the stairs. I looked at the time in my phone and saw that it's only 7:30 in the morning. I sighed in relief because I know that my parents are in the gym around this time and they would be back after and hour or so.
The both of us entered the kitchen and Justin sat on one of the bar stools while I went and grabbed all the ingredients for making the pancake batter. I opened my phone, as well as the kitchen speakers and connected it with my phone. I opened my Spotify playlist and let the music fill the kitchen.
"5 Seconds of Summer," Justin said and a smile spread on my face as I stir the batter. "You know them?" I asked as I placed the pan on the stove and spreading butter on the surface. "Who doesn't?" Justin asked and I giggled.
I grabbed the coffee pot and poured some on a white mug and handed it to Justin. I grabbed another cup and placed the remaining liquid in it. I grabbed a teaspoon and grabbed cream from a container and placing it in my coffee. I stirred my coffee before placing the pancake batter in the pan.
I flipped the batter that now turned into a pancake. I placed the finished pancake on a plate then placed batters after batter. I turned off the stove and saw that I already made two stacks of pancakes. I placed one in front of Justin and the other one at his side. I grabbed the syrup and butter and placed it on the counter.
I sat beside Justin and took a sip of my coffee. "Hey, Maya," Justin said and I looked at him. He looked at the pancakes then looked at my eyes.
"Thank you Maya. Not only for the pancakes but for saving me as well," he said and I smiled a bit. "That was nothing really. But, I actually pity you Justin. . . I didn't know you lived like that," I said and he broke our eye contact and stared at the pancakes. "Yeah. That's my life alright," he mumbled and I sighed a bit.
"But your still a douche," I said and we both stared at each other before bursting out laughing. "I know I am," he said and we both ate out breakfast. After a couple of minutes, I hear keys from outside the house.
"Oh my parents are here," I mumbled as I took a sip from my mug. "Would they mind if I'm here?" Justin asked as he ate his pancakes. I shrugged and heard the door open. "As long as we didn't do anything," I said and after I did, my parents peeked in the kitchen.
"Oh good morning dear!" mom greeted and I saw that she's sweating so much. My dad walked past her and climbed the stairs. "I see you already made yourself breakfast— Who is this dashing young lad?" she asked and entered the kitchen.
"This is Justin. My classmate and partner in our Chemistry project. He came here to work on it," I said and my mom nodded, grinning at me. "Okay. Well, good luck on the project," she said before leaving the kitchen. I was about to drink my coffee again when my mom peeked her head in the kitchen again, as if she's waiting for something to happen.
I rolled my eyes and chuckled. "Just go mom," I said and she giggled before leaving the kitchen. Justin looked at me with a huge smile. "I like you mom," he said and I scrunched up my nose. "That sounded wrong, Justin," I said and he laughed. "I mean, her personality is cool. I don't like her romantically,"
"I know. I'm not dumb like you," I said and stuck my tongue out. "Hey!" he said and I chuckled, finishing my pancakes and coffee. I looked at Justin from the side and he is actually smiling genuinely. Not forced, not a grin, not a smirk. A real smile.
"You know, you should smile like that more," I said before I could even stop myself. I bit the inside of my cheek when he looked at me. "Really? Well I think you should cook me more food because these pancakes are amazing," he said and I felt my cheeks heat up a bit.
"They're only pancakes," I said but he shrugged. "It's not premade though," he said and drank his coffee. I stared at him for a while before smiling.
Maybe there's good in him after all.

a/n : I know this is quite short but if I prolonged it more, the chapter would get boring :)
