I sat up on my bed and looked at the cassette player. I nibbled on my bottom lip as I took a deep breathe. This is it. I will know why I'm part of her reasons. Why I caused Hannah Baker to commit suicide.

I was about to press play, but suddenly, I heard someone knocking. At first, I looked at my door expecting someone to speak at the other end. The knocks erupted in my room again and that's when I realized that it's not knocking on wood; it's knocking on glass.

I looked at my window to see someone silhouette. I removed my headphones and slowly made my way to my window. I opened it and my eyes widened when I saw Justin outside my window. Yes. Outside my window.

"Hey hot stuff," he said and grinned at me. I felt my heart flattered as he called me by a pet name. "What are you doing here?" I asked and stepped out of the way for him to enter. He slowly entered my room and fixed his blue flannel and black shirt. Justin looked around my room, nodding.

"I uh. . . Want to go out?" Justin said and looked at my eyes with a smile. My heart skipped a beat as his words repeated on my mind. Want to go out? I licked my dry lips and wiped my palms on my pajama pants.

"I need to listen to the tapes. . ." I mumbled and his face softened. "Ah the tapes. Where are you?" he asked and I raised a brow at him. "Right in front of you," I said and he smirked. "I mean, whose tape are you listening at?" he asked and I felt my throat tightened.

"Mine," I managed to squeeze out. He let out an 'ah' and grabbed my hand. "All the more that you need to relax," Justin said and I shook my head. "Oh hell no. Even though I'm rebellious Justin, I can't just go out without my parents knowing. They'll freak," I hissed and he chuckled.

"So your kind off a good girl that's a bad girl that has been caught?" he said and I immediately got his reference. It's from Good Girls of 5SOS but he altered some lyrics.  I crossed my arms across my chest raised a brow at him. "Justin, I can't," I said and he pressed his lips into a thin line.

"Why can't you?" he asked and I sighed deeply. "I need to finish the tapes," I said and he pouted at me which caught me off guard. "Please? Please just this one night," he pleaded and for the third time tonight, Justin caught me off guard.

After a few more pleading, I gave in. "Fine. But I won't drink nor do drugs," I mumbled and he nodded. "I'll just change," I said and grabbed an outfit from my closet. I went in my bathroom and locked it.

I crossed my arms in front of me and lifted my pajama top off and wiggled out of my pajama bottoms. I pulled on my black ripped knee skinny jeans, grey halter top, and denim jacket. I wore my black low cut converse before walking out the bathroom.

Justin was sitting on my bed looking at his black combat boots. He looked up and a smile spread on his face. "You look. . . Breathtaking," Justin mumbled and slowly walked towards me. He cupped my chin and lifted it, now our eyes locking. He leaned in and kissed me softly.

I felt all fireworks in my stomach go off because of the kiss. This was the first time Justin kissed me like this. Soft. . . Like I'm a porcelain doll that would break if he forced the touch.

We pulled away from each other and I have never thanked the darkness so much to hide my flaring red cheeks. Justin intertwined our hands together and we left my room by my window. The cold autumn wind welcomed the both of us and thankfully, I'm wearing a jacket.

Justin climbed down the tree from next door and suddenly I felt my insides twist and turn. How the hell would I go down? I don't climb trees. I looked down to see Justin removing dust from his outfit before looking up at me.

"Jump," he said and I felt my mouth dry. "A-are you serious?" I asked as I massaged my hands nervously. He nodded and reached his arms out. "Jump Maya. I'll catch you," Justin said and I felt my insides twist more.

What if he won't catch me? What if he missed and I fall down on the ground and crack my skull open? What if I'll die tonight because of this?

"Trust me, Maya. Just jump and I'll catch you," Justin's voice interrupted my thoughts and I took a deep breathe. "Trust me," Justin said and I saw in his eyes, even though it's dark, that he's serious.

I slowly edged on the edge of the roof and closed my eyes. I jumped from the roof and braced myself from the impact from the ground. I'll feel a sharp pain, I'll have bone fractures, and I'll miss school for oh I don't know; 3 months.

Yes!

Ugh, it's not the right time to be happy though. I'll still feel pain.

But instead of the ground welcoming my limp body, I felt arms under it. I slowly opened my eyes to see Justin looking at my face with a wide smile. "I told you I'll catch you when you fall," he said and I felt my heart flatter.

"S-sure. . ." I said and he slowly let me down. I stood on my feet but still clutched on to Justin's shoulder. I managed to regain my composure and Justin lead me to the driveway and onto a sleek black motorcycle.

"Wow," I gasped and Justin grinned at me. "Looks wicked, right? Come on," he said and hoped on the motor. I sat behind him and my arms going back and forth on Justin's sides as I hesitated on wrapping it around him.

"You need to hug me tight hot stuff. I don't want you to fall and I'm afraid I can't catch you," he said and I wrapped my arms around his stomach area. I grinned a little as I felt Justin tense up a bit at my touch but relaxed sooner or later. Justin turned around and placed a helmet on my head.

"What about you?" I asked as I noticed that there's only one helmet and there's two of us. He smiled at me and pecked my lips before turning his body in front. "I don't need it. As long as you're safe, I'm good," Justin said and turned on the key.

The motorcycle roared beneath us and Justin drove off. I felt the cold wind slap me in the face and causing my hair go flow freely in the air. I clutched tighter on Justin as I feel that I might fall off anytime. We went farther away from the neighborhood and ended up somewhere deserted.

All the houses were wrecked and we stopped in an abandoned courtyard but in the middle of it, there's a bonfire lit and I saw a few familiar faces and some I don't. I saw Bryce, Zach, Alex, Marcus, and Jessica and then the others, I don't recognize.

I took off my helmet and hoped off Justin's motorcycle. He followed suit and I placed the helmet on the back. Justin wrapped an arm around my waist as we both walked towards the crowd.

They all looked at the both of us and hollered. Bryce walked towards us and handed out two cups, which I didn't take. I'm not drinking. I can't drink or else I would spill secrets that I don't want to get know. . .

Yes I have secrets. Who doesn't?

Jessica looked at Justin and I then threw me a glare before taking a long swig from her red cup. Justin was holding a red cup and taking small sips. "Hey, don't get too drunk. You're driving remember," I said and he popped his lips together.

"Oh shit you're right," he said and handed his cup to Zach who chuckled. "No way dude! You're turning down a drink? That's sick. Maya, you're changing Justin!" he retorted and I raised a brow at him.

"No! No! It's my choice. I have to take my Cinderella home," Justin said and looked at me. I grinned at him and he kissed my forehead.

"Yeah. She changed him for the worst. Hey! Refill me up Alex!" Jessica said and I felt pain prick my heart. She turned cold. But. . . I kind off understood her. Because if I was in her shoes, I'll be pretty upset.

Justin grabbed my hand and we walked off the courtyard and went inside a wrecked barn house. "What is this?"

I asked as we entered the premises. Justin let go of my hand and spread his arms around as he turns around in a circle.

"Welcome to my haven,"
