"Don't pretend you don't care anymore, don't say it doesn't cross your mind, when the truth is you care too much, and it's haunting your dreams." - Melody Jones

The Patient

Landen's POV:

The weeks passed, and school was back in session. Melody and I merely made any eye contact with each other, and I was too busy with work.

When I finally got home, I went straight up to my office without taking one look at Melody's house.

I sat at my desk, and turned on my computer.

Finally, I get to pay attention to my "patient."

My "patient" was dying, right there in front of me. The surveillance showed it all.

If they don't go through, surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation.

I am going to lose them.

Lung cancer, and my patient isn't even a smoker.

He's falling apart.

Nothing my patient could do really, he's too old to do anything.

I stared at the computer screen for quite awhile, until I began to feel sleepy.

I passed out in my seat. Dreaming of Melody. Once again.
