chapter 16:Cole

After eating and everything i decided it was time for me to go. I found Jani in the kitchen with her grandmother having a conversation i would probably never understand. They both said something and then she turned and looked at me while her grandmother came towards me.

"Este es tu novio(Is this your boyfriend)" she said and i looked to Ajani for a translation.

" No esta es mi mejor amiga Cole abuela( no this is my bestfriend Cole grandmother)"she said and her grandmother gave us a look before kissing her cheek and patting my chest then left the kitchen.

"you need something" she asked

"i was about to head out you good"

"yeah" she said

"see i think i need 4 to-go plates"

"go fix them " she said and  then looked at me before we laughed and she went fix them.

"so your Micah's son" I turned and seen a Colombian woman shorter then me slim and lighter then Ezperanza around Jani's color. Her hair was pulled in a ponytail making her look younger.

"im Marisol i use to date your Uncle and i was friends with your mother and father" she said then walked over grabbing a beer and leaning against the counter.

"oh" i said. Like Jani and her mada she had seductive ways 

"you look like your father reincarnated i hope you dont act like him im surprised your even friends with my neice" she said

"Why"

"because her mother tried to keep yall apart well really keep Jani away from Cornell and Micah" she said 

"I heard the stories gyal" i said

"you sure you heard everyone Cucaracha "she asked

"what do you want" i asked

"i want my niece protected my sister told me everything about how Cornell's kid choked her i dont trust you and i dont get why Jani does she's always been naive but i havent i know that the apple doesnt fall far from the tree and your just like your papa and your primo just like his I wont spare any mercy protecting her" she said

"enough tia Marisol Cole has done nothing bur proved how loyal a person he really is i understand you love me but you have to let me back my own decisions as to who im gonna hang with and secondly im not naive and but you are for saying that not everyone is just like there parents if that was the case you would be an old stubborn drunk" Jani  said

"who do you think your talking to little girl" her aunt asked

"someone who's being very rude to my friend" Ajani said not backing down

"Jani it's fine i understand " I said so she wouldnt get in trouble.

She turned to me and handed me the plates.

"i added one for your moma to tell her i miss her" she said as she walked me out. 

"she misses you to" i said smiling at her for a second and she gave me one back

"im sorry about what happened earlier with tia marisol"

"i get it she's over protective im glad your families that way. So tomorrow after school we could meet up have you ever shot a gun before" i  asked

"no" she said looking down and i laughed alittle

"dont laugh Cucaracha"she said

"i do what i want " i said and she laughed

"bye likkle gyal" i said

"adios Cole" she said and then i waited til she got in the house before driving to the house.

when i got there i seen everyone was home and Dom was over. Which im not surprised by he was probably gonna ask me what happened like usual.

When i walked in i heard crying and knew it was dymond.

"what's in the bag" My fadda asked

"Food from Jani's she sent yall plates" i said passing them out before going bring one to my mada.

"Moma Jani made you a plate of the food they had cooked"I yelled

"she's so sweet when is she coming back over i miss her" 

"She said she missed you to and i dont know maybe Saturday we could have a pool party" i asked her and she shrugged

"im going out of town with your fadda saturday what ever you do make sure my dam house is clean" she said kissing my cheeks and going eat the food.

After eating i went chill in my bed. Then my fadda came in 

"you like this room" i asked him

"i pay for it i should" he said and i mugged him

"Bwoy fix your face and Cornell and Ezperanza called me" he said

"Well I talked to Ajani today actually" I said

"And" he asked

"She wants to do it but I think more of because it was something to help her remember her fadda not greed " I said

"She acts like him im not surprised in her choice to follow in his choice of occupation"

"But fadda there is a lot she has to learn"

"I know I called your cousin Arianna the one who live out here to teach her then afterwards we can handle it"he said

"How about they meet first Ajani is stubborn and we know she wont learn from someone she doesn't like" I said and he nodded

"That's you and Dom's job I have to wait a likkle but because your uncles and cousins need to meet her and also do you know her major in college"

"Ummm its to become a nurse I think or a lawyer im not sure she told me but I never paid attention" I said

"Pay attention to that gyal she is a future business partner you should know just as much about Ajani as you know about your cousins" he said and I nodded.

"I know you'll be the smart one in the group"

"And the others "I asked him wanting his opinion

"Dom's a hothead he gets to caught up your cousin Richmond is more of the chilled one who goes with the flow and Powell he's the clean up crew basically he always gets you Bwoy out of trouble I don't know jani enough to say her part but I think she be a big help who knows she might become the smart one" he said and then kissed my forehead before leaving.

After a couple more hours I was out. My mind still heavy thinking of the future. One thing i thought about was the fact that you couldnt predict the future. I wanted so much to know what would happen cause there was questions i needed to know the answer to. Would i be great like my fadda? Would this work out with everyone as in the business? Would i ever have to kill someone? Would i ever use English 4? I went to sleep with more questions on my mind. Questions i knew i couldnt answer.
