"Name?"
"Melissa Robinson."
"Age?"
"Twenty two."
"Mate?"
"Uh, yes."
"Where did you come from?"
"Uh, I'll need a map to answer that."
"Where were you going to?"
"Away from here."
"Where is here, exactly?" Alpha Watson asks, finally, looking up.
"The last spot I inhabited."
"Okay, we're you with anyone else?"
"No."
"Why did you come onto our boundaries?"
"Because, I tripped over a log and landed on your boundaries."
"Why did you trip over the log?"
"Because I was running."
"To what?"
"From what."
"From what?"
"My previous pack."
"Why?"
"Because, I committed treason."
Alpha Watson sighs. "Okay, take a seat and just tell me the full story."
He gestured towards the, double seat, sofa where Baker was sitting.
"With all due respect, Alpha Watson, I would prefer to stand."
"By all means." He says, but he's not looking at me. I follow his gaze, which lead me to Baker. Who was staring at me intently.
An awkward moment passed, consisting of everyone looking at each other.
"Uh, are you guys talking telepathically or something?" I ask hesitantly.
The Luna and Alpha Watson both shook their heads while Baker spoke up.
"I was talking to you."
"Oh," I reply.
"Why were you talking to the prisoner?" Alpha Watson demands.
"She's not a prisoner." Baker retorts.
"Yet." I add in.
Everyone looks at me, while I shrug.
"What were you saying to her?" Alpha Watson asks, returning his attention.
"It doesn't matter."
"This is pack business, you will tell me what you told her."
"It's not the pack's business."
"So, it's personal business?"
Baker nodded.
"Then as your best friend, you are required to tell me."
Baker groaned and hit the back of his head on the wall behind him.
"I'm not going to tell you."
"Do they fight a lot?" I ask the Luna as she glides to my side.
"No, not really. Beta Baker hates fighting, it unusual for him to be doing it now. It only fights when it means a lot to him." She whispers in reply.
I frown.
"You, tell me what he said." Alpha Watson asks pointing his finger in my direction.
"I don't know."
"Why?"
"Because, I'm half human, therefore I am missing some werewolf genes. I am missing telepathy and hearing."
"Half human?" Alpha Watson asks.
"Your pack members must have some human mates, what do you expect their offspring to be like?" I ask.
"So, you don't know what he said?"
"Not a clue."
"Really?"
"I could crack a good guess."
"Then crack a good guess."
"Or don't." Baker adds.
I pause for a moment.
"The sentence was personal for," I hesitate. "What's your name?"
"Hamilton."
"Nice name, probably a better name than," I gesture at Alpha Watson.
"Blake."
"Never mind, and you would be," I trail off looking at the Luna.
"Brooke."
"Finally, a proper name."
"Are you judging us by our names?" Alpha Blake asks.
"No, I'm judging your parents." I say pointing at him. "Anyway, this matter has to do with the pack."
"How?" Hamilton asks.
"Story time." I say, clapping my hands together. Purposely not answering Hamilton's question.
"Then take a seat." Alpha Blake says.
"I would prefer to stand thank you."
"Okay, before we all get a sense of déjà vu, let's let Melissa here tell us what she need to say." Brooke hurriedly adds in, before Alpha Blake can speak.
We all, weirdly, nod in-sync and I set off into my adventurous tale.
"Running has saved my life."

||

"Let me get this straight. You've been chased-"
"Being chased." I correct him.
"Being chased," he Alpha corrects himself. "By a legendary rogue pack, used in stories to teach our kin life lessons, who wants to kill you, because you committed high treason.
I nod.
"So, therefore the whole pack is endangered, because the Red Fang Pack will kill anyone who gets in their way."
"Pretty much."
"You do know how fictional that sounds right?"
I shoot him a cheeky grin. "We haven't even got to the dilemma yet."
"So, enlighten me, what is the dilemma?"
"I'm your beta's mate."
"You're joking. Please, tell me she's joking." He says pleadingly at Hamilton.
He shakes his head.
At that I see the urge, in Alpha Blake's eyes, to bang his head on the table - multiple times.
"What do you suggest we do?" Alpha Blake, finally, asks.
"I can tell you what not to do. However, if will probably not solve the entire problem."
"What can we not do?"
"I can't join the pack or be marked."
"Why?"
"Because, eventually I will have to leave for some time and if I get caught, then they will attack this pack and kill everyone in it."
"What about those who escape?"
"They have been chasing me for four years, they are very determined people and don't give up easily. You have to get them that at the very least."
"So, if your found here everyone dies." Alpha Blake sums up.
"And if I leave then I'm killing myself and your Beta." I finish.
Alpha Blake turns to Hamilton.
"What do you think out of all of this?"
"I obviously want what is best for the pack, but," he trailed off.
"You want to be with Melissa."
Hamilton nodded.
"This is going to take a long time to come up with a proper solution." Alpha Blake muttered, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"We do have a time limit."
"What?"
"The Red Fang rogues know I'm here, and even if they didn't, the longer I spend here. The harder it will become to leave as I get to know Hamilton."
"Do you know for sure that they know your here?" Brooke asks.
"There is a fawn hanging from a tree on your boarder line, I think they probably know."
"What do you suggest we do?" Hamilton asks. "Should you leave now?"
"No, they'll grow suspicious of why I left so early, since I should be a prisoner here."
"Well, you are a prisoner here." Alpha Blake corrected me.
"No, I'm not."
"How so?"
"Because, you'll have an angry best friend on your hands."
"An angry Beta." He corrects again.
"No, an angry Beta is easy to handle as you can just shut him up with your authority over him. An angry best friend however is harder to handle due to this situation."
"How do you know?"
"I've been in the same situation with my sister."
All was silent for a minute.
"My sister." I repeat quietly.
"What was that Melissa?" Brooke asks softly.
"My sister." I say slowly.
"So, getting back on topic, what should we do about our predicament?" Alpha Blake asks impatiently.
"My sister." I say, again, while frowning.
"What about your sister?" Hamilton asks gently.
"Can I use a telephone?"
