"Alena Carpenter." I announce walking in Alpha's Blake's office
"Is the Red Fang spy for Waning Crescent?" Brooke guesses.
"Correct, 50 points to Brooke." I exclaim.
"But didn't you say there might be more than one spy?" Jenny asks.
"Yeah, but they would have left the pack by now, I sent out a distress call to them and the spy's in this pack." I answer. "So you may have noticed that a few people have left randomly since this morning."
"There was a group of four people, we were going to send a search party out, in a few hours, if they didn't return." Alpha Blake says. "You don't think they would have taken a hostage or anything?" He asks.
I shake my head. "Nah, Red Fang doesn't roll like that, if they want you dead then they kill you. No messing about."
"Right, so have you contacted your sister about your message?"
"Yeah, I rang her an hour after we got back." I say. "Told her everything." I say more quietly.
I look at my shoes and will myself not to cry.
"So, all Lea has to do now is expose Alena Carpenter and show the pack that Red Fang took Jenny and not us." Hamilton speaks for me. "And we have our alibi that Red Fang took Connie and framed both packs for each other and that in order to defeat Red Fang we have to become allies."
"Lea will have to come here for that." Alpha Blake says frowning. "Is your sister okay with that Melissa?" He asks turning to me.
I nod. "She's coming on Tuesday." I say. "Brooke and I set everything up."
"She okay with coming by herself?"
I hesitate. "Raymond's coming also, she'll just dress like a solider. So, it'll look like she's just a body guard or something." I answer. "And when Raymond leaves, we'll send someone from this pack back with him, so nothing looks too suspicious."
"The Alpha of Waning Crescent is coming here?" Alpha Blake says way too calmly for the situation. "And you knew?" He asks turning to his mate.
"I knew, and we're telling you now." Brooke says firmly. "There's nothing to worry about."
"I don't want that man in my pack, he'll just ruin the plan." Alpha Blake growls. "And stresses the pack out." He tries to reason.
"Raymond knows the plan he will leave earlier than my sister, he will leave the following day. The pack won't even know he was here." I say expressing my logic. "We need them if we are even going to dream of defeating Red Fang."
"We don't need their help." Alpha Blake shouts.
"We do need them Blake." Hamilton shouts, expressing his opinion for the first time. "We will struggle to defeat them even with Waning Crescent."
"You have no authority to shout at me or express an opinion Hamilton." Alpha Blake shouts back.
"You're being unreasonable Blake-" Brooke tries to calm her mate down, but Hamilton cuts her off.
"You haven't even fought even one of Red Fang's members Blake, they aren't like any other pack or rouges that we've ever come across. I may not have the authority to shout at you, but you don't get to make this choice. Lea and Melissa do. We need Waning Crescent Blake, whether you like it or not." He spoke with clarity and confidence, something I had only ever seen glimpses of in Hamilton before.
Alpha Blake was staring at Hamilton dumbfounded, as well as everyone else.
"Raymond will come to this pack on Tuesday." Hamilton continues. "We don't actually need to even talk to him, although he will probably want to be in loop. We only need to talk Lea. Then Lea will stay on, and Raymond will leave on Wednesday. It is set in stone and there is nothing you can do to change it."
Alpha Blake sighs and walking over to his desk and sits in his chair.
"What's going to happen after that happens?" He asks.
"We'll discuss the next part of the plan, how we're going to take down Red Fang." Brooke says.
"Blah, blah, blah." I mutter. "We talk too much."
Alpha Blake frowns at me "It's called planning, and we have to discuss our plans."
"When have plans every actually worked?" I ask. "In real life, even fictional plans never work."
"Last night, you got the document we needed." He replies.
"Yeah, but our plan didn't work." I mutter darkly. "In, out, don't get seen, don't talk, get the document." I say under my breath.
He nods, giving me a funny look. While Hamilton looks at me worriedly.
"You said something about someone from our pack going back to Waning Crescent with Raymond. No one would ever do that willingly." He says, changing the subject.
"Actually, there his someone who is willing to do it." I say. "Daniel come in here."
"Who's Daniel?" Alpha Blake asks.
"Your one and only Omega Alpha Watson." Daniel says walking into the room, taking a little bow in the process.
"Hunter?" Alpha Blake says a little bit in shock. "You want to do this?"
"Yes Alpha." He says nodding.
"Well then I guess that everything's settled."
We all nod, except Daniel.
"Okay know for personal business." Jenny starts. "What happened at Red Fang's base? You have both been acting weird." She points out.
Brooke nod. "It's like you've swapped personalities. Hamilton's more confident and Mel you've been keeping to yourself more."
Hamilton and I exchange glances.
"I don't think it would be appropriate to talk about it." Hamilton begins.
"Red Fang changes you." I say simply. "It doesn't matter if you're fighting against them or fighting with them."
"I don't understand." Daniel says.
"I have told you that we can beat Red Fang, but Red Fang will always win, whether you beat them or not. Red Fang wins, they play a different game to the rest of us, because they're evil. All they want to do is hurt us, and they succeed every single time." I say bitterly.
They are all silent.
"I'm going to take a walk." I announce standing up, heading towards the door.
"Wait up for me, I'll come with you." Hamilton says to my back.
I walk out the door and wait patiently for Hamilton.
"What happened?"
"You have to remember this is her old pack. She knows these people, and some of them were her friends. This is hard for her emotionally not physically or mentally." I hear him say to the group of people inside.
"Thanks." I mutter when Hamilton grasps my hand and we begin walking.
"For what?" He asks.
"Not telling them everything." I answer, and we head to the gardens in silence, being comforted by each other's presence.------------------------------------
