Lauren's POV
"This is so cool!" Mani says
"Being at an animal hospital all day is cool?" I chuckle
"It is with you" She smiles
Today Dr. Santana's not in so I'll be filling in for her and being that Normani had nothing to do she came with me.
"Oh yea, you wanna come with me to my parents house tomorrow with Tristan?" She asks
"Sure, for what?" I ask, balancing my attention on the Cat and her
"Barbecue, your parents are coming too" She says
"Oh Lord" I playfully sigh
"I'll get you around 5, when it's not as hot" She laughs
"It's so hot this week" I groan
"Wait your parents have a pool right?" I ask
"Yea" She says
"We gotta go earlier so we can get in the pool!" I whine
"Lauren-"
"Baby pleeaaassee" I say
"They're gonna make us help out-"
"Pumpkin" I smirk
"WHY do you do this?" She asks
"It's fun" I grin
"I'll be there at 12, asshole" She mumbles

"Wassup Lauren" My Coworker Dinah says, entering the room
"Hey, what you need?" I ask
"Nothing just gonna chill in here for a while with you and this fine specimen" She says, smiling at Normani
"Why?" I ask, slightly glaring at her
"To make sure you know what you're doing" She says
"But you know I know" I say
"I do know but they're making me since it's part of the policy" She says
"Well hello miss chocolate thang, lemme touch you" She smiles
"I don't fucking think so!" I say quickly
"I meant the cat Lauren" She says
"Whatever" I say, rolling my eyes
When she's done petting the cat she sits next to Mani and I groan. Just focus on the Cat Lauren. Focus on the cat.
"Hi I'm DinahJane"
"Normani, Lauren's girlfriend"
That's right Mani, let it be known who got this on LOCK!
"Ooh I see you Lauren" Dinah says
"Yup, off limits" I say
They continue talking and I lightly pet the cat.
"Let's see what's wrong with your leg princess" I say as it purrs against my hand
I rub the leg and she meows in pain causing me to frown.
"It's gonna feel better soon" I mumble
"Wanna get checked out Normani?"
"Lol last i checked I'm not an animal"
"But i am...in bed"
"Hmm what type?"
"I would say a beast"
These two are reeeaaaallllyyy irking me, they got one more time. Especially the bitch that just walked in.
"You know Normani, my favorite ice cream is chocolate dipped cones with the vanilla ice cream; it don't feel right if the vanilla don't spill out though"
"Can you not?" I ask with my voice slightly raising
"What?" Dinah asks
"You're fucking flirting with my girlfriend right in front of me! And Normani you're entertaining the shit! Both of y'all can get out!" I say
"Lauren it was a joke" She says
"Not to me" I say
"Babe it was harmless" Mani says
"Whatever"
A couple hours later Dinah leaves and I start treating the last pet.
"You still mad at me?" Normani asks
I look at her then back to the bunny, choosing to ignore her. Seconds later I feel her arms around me and her head against mine.
"You really gonna ignore me?" She asks
I shrug my shoulders and she sucks her teeth.
"And give me the silent treatment?" She whines
I continue to treat the bunny and I hear her sigh then kiss my neck lightly.
"Come on baby I'm sorry" She says
"I'll let you call me that awful name for a week" She mumbles after another period of silence
"Really?" I ask
"Ugh! Yea" She says
"Ok...pumpkin"
