My Shining Star

1: memories

I stepped onto the slippery surface for my 7 minute warm up
I started to skate backwards and doing crossovers carefully watching for the other skaters
I don't want to run into anyone
All of a sudden another skater skated up behind me and did a triple salchow
I crashed into her
Her blade sliced my hand in mid air
I saw her smirk and skate away

I hit the wall with a huge thud
I screamed out in pain
As I fell to the ground in pain
I can't feel my right leg at all
I saw the blood oozing from my head hand and leg
Everything hurts
I can feel the darkness trying to take me but no I won't let it I fought to stay awake
Everything was blurry and I can hear thuds and muffled screams and yelling
God please let this be over
I felt the tears spill from my eyes
As I cried out
Everything hurts I can't feel my right leg or my left hand
I felt a warm liquid on my lip
And saw it drip onto the ice
It was my blood

It's all over my dream my passion it's gone everything for nothing
I was so close to winning to
I got a world record and everyone else was far behind I would have won

What is taking these darn medic's so long
Finally after what seemed like hours a medic came over to me
And lead me to solid ground
They sat me on a chair and patched me up as they bombarded me with questions
My coach was talking to one of the medic's I had trouble making out what they were saying but I know
I'm not going to be able to compete
My coach walked over to me with a sad smile
"I'm sorry....your not able to compete"
No....no this can't happen
I won't let it happen
I felt the tears come pouring down like a river
"No" my coach looked at me "what?"
"No I'm not giving up"
He frowned
"No Kirsten"
I shook my head
"I don't care I have a strong lead and.."
"NO KIRSTEN LOOK AT YOURSELF YOUR IN NO PLACE TO COMPETE THINK OF YOUR HEALTH!!!"
I was shocked
My coach never yelled at me like this before never

He frowned
"I'm sorry for yelling at you but please think of yourself"
I nodded giving up
I stood up like the medic's told me to they helped me outside
But before I could make it
I passed out and let the darkness overtake my body
