4: teaching

I walked over to brian
"Oh Hello Kirsten early I see"
I nodded
"Well you'll be helping me with some paper work later but go and relax before you do"
I nodded

I sat down at one of the tables and started writing in my journal
It is peaceful since the 'children' aren't here yet
I smiled to myself but quickly shook it off

Then I heard loud noises coming from the entrance
Oh god here we go
They spotted me
I quickly put my journal in my bag
As they came over
They started annoying me

They all started poking me
God they are weird
I looked at brian with a straight face
But I think he read my mind
"Guy's go get warmed up or else you'll do push ups till the end of training"
They all ran to get warmed up
I looked at brian and nodded to show my thank you

I stood up and followed brian
To his office
He told me what to do and left the room
Good thing I know how to do this
I used to help My coach do my paperwork so this is easy stuff
I finished all the paperwork I needed to do
I put each paper in a different piles
On the desk
I stood up and walked out to the rink

I stood at the doorway and watched each skater carefully
Javi is doing a quadruple salchow
But his angle is wrong and he didn't use his arms enough
I walked over to the edge of the rink as javi fell
Before brian could say anything I did
"Your angle was wrong and use your arms more they'll come in handy"
Javi nodded and did it again
He got it right
I nodded saying good job
And sat down on a bench

Brian called for a break and the boys got water blew their noses you know the normal
I stayed put with my usual straight face
"Do you ever smile" Nam asked
Javi hit him on the back of the head
"I have my reasons"
I said quietly

Jun-hwan was silently standing off to the corner
Brian is letting him take a longer break then the others
I walked over to brian
"I can help Jun-hwan with expressions" I whispered
The look on his face was price less
But he agreed

I walked over to Jun-hwan
"Grab your water bottle and anything else you want take off your skates"
He did everything I told him to
"Follow me"
I took him to one of the rooms which has a has a chair, table and I whiteboard

"Sit down please"
I closed the door and stood in front of him
"Alright so we all know expressions are a big part of figure skating"
He nodded
"You are really good already but I think we can work on it"
Jun-hwan is one of the newest members of team orser
Since he joined in 2015

I put my hand on his shoulder
and softened my voice
"Jun if you have any troubles please come to me"
He looked at me with wide eyes
I smiled slightly
He nodded

"Excuse me um Kirsten"
"Yes?"
"Why don't you show emotions"
I went back to a straight face and tensed up
"Something bad happened"
He nodded understanding
"May I ask why"
"Only if you don't tell anyone"
He nodded smiling
"Well you see I used to be a figure skater just like you"
His eyes glowed
"Really?"
I smiled laughing at bit
But then I frowned
I pulled up my pants to show him my leg brace then I took off one of my gloves revealing my scars
He gasped
"But I got injured and had to quit because someone was selfless and wanted to win"
He nodded

His next action surprised me
He hugged me
I hugged him back
"We should head out now let's go work on that program of yours"
He nodded as we walked out of the room
I went back to my normal straight face
Jun-hwan was talking to me as we made it to the rink side
I made him put his ice skates on
And start practicing again

I swear he is such a cutie
He's a good kid to
I looked twords brian and nodded
He called break for the other skaters
I went to the edge of the rink
Jun-hwan's music came on
He was doing all his moves right
But he's not connecting to the music enough and his expressions are sloppy
"Try to act more graceful"
He did what I said
And it looked better
The music ended as he did his ending pose
I clapped and gave him a nod
He smiled

It was now the end of the day
I told Jun-hwan to stay after practice
He sat down next to me as every left
I looked at my bag for a moment
I could hurt myself really bad if I go back onto the ice
I'll be careful
I put my ice skates on And memories came rushing back

I stepped onto the ice
Jun-hwan joined me surprised at my actions
"Are you sure you won't get hurt"
I nodded
I did his starting pose
And showed him what to do during his program without doing the jumps
He clapped When I finished
"Wow you must have been amazing Kirsten"
I nodded and gave him a small smile
"We should go"
We both took off our skates
And walked out of the building

I jumped onto my bed and instantly fell asleep
