here's a copy of the contract i have to sign to even get the app store or facetime or fucking pandora back on my phone:

"I want to be a good person in life. That is far more important than my phone. I also want the privileges that come with a phone. Here are the rules that I have agreed upon with my parents.

1. The phone must be brought downstairs by 9:00 each weeknight and by midnight on Friday and Saturday.

2. My parents will always know all of my passwords.

3. I will never ignore a call if the caller ID reads "Mom" or "Dad". Never. I will return a missed call from Mom or Dad as soon as I realize I missed it or could not answer.

4. I will not use technology to be rude, hurt others feelings, lie, cheat, fool, or deceive any other human being.

5. I will not text, email, or say anything through these devices that I would not say in person or be comfortable saying in front of my parents.

6. I will not share/post photos of anyone else without their permission.

7. I will not respond/reply to unknown numbers.

8. I will not use my phone during meals and will not have my phone at the table.

9. I will tell my parents immediately if anyone bullies me, sends scary or suspicious photos or messages, or any other inappropriate behavior. (I will never give out Age, Name, or Location.)

10. Any social media apps, sites, pages or other types of applications must be approved by my parents. I think it's awesome that my parent's take interest in following me on social media and will not block them from seeing any of my posts, snaps, tweets, pages or accounts. I will not set up, create or establish secondary accounts on any social network application that are unknown to my parents.

11. All social media accounts must be set to private.

12. I will not communicate with anyone on social media unless I have met them in person.

13. I will not text/communicate with others between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (unless given specific permission from one of my parents.)

14. I will not clear my browser history.

15. All game and app downloads must be parent approved.

16. I will not share my passwords with anyone except my parents.

17. I understand that my parents may install software on my phone and/or school computer that is designed to restrict access to certain websites and content. I will not in any way attempt to delete, remove or circumvent the software install by my parents on my electronics. I understand that it is for my own safety.

18. I will be honest about what I am doing on my phone. Being dishonest breaks the trust relationship.

I understand that if I break any of these rules I could lose my phone for a period of time to be determined by my parents.
