unpopular shakespeare opinions

okay a while ago i bought a book with all of shakespeare's plays (not for school or anything im just a nerd) and i could go on about this forever (and i'll probably make 72074 more chapters about it whoops) but here are some of my unpop(?) shakespeare opinions (and why dont i add another parenthetical phrase just to abuse them even further)

1. i know everyone says king henry vi part one is his weakest plays and i dont necessarily disagree but i dont think it deserves all the hate it gets because as far as historical plays go it's pretty compelling the whole way through and he definitely has worse history plays (cough king richard cough)

2. in king henry vi (again) i know that joan of arc is supposed to be the antagonist but she was a fucking badass and i cried when she died

3. okay i get that iago is a fucking dick in othello but hes the smartest, most complex and most well rounded character and honestly i think that iago should be title of the play instead of othello i will fight you about this

4. i think this because the true protagonist of the play is iago and the true antagonist is truth itself for many reasons and i will write you a 10 page essay about it if you want

(chateau by blackbear just came on and it's such a fucking bop oh my god)

5. in romeo and juliet i actually really like tybalt as a character for some reason and also mercutio got on my nerves so i didnt really mind when tybalt killed him tbh

6. in case you havent noticed i tend to actually like the villains whoops sorry

7. romeo and juliet is his worst tragedy and is full of plot holes you could drive a truck through im not sorry about this one pls fight me

8. people should talk more about how shakespeare was almost definitely not straight

9. yall the famous quote "shall i compare thee to a summer's day" (sonnet 18) was from a love poem about a man,,,published without his permission along with other poems about m e n
