"Did you know that when I was young, I wanted to be an astronaut?"
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. I would look at all the stars and the huge sky and wonder what those stars would look like from outer space. Would they still form the same constellations?"
"Interesting. What changed?"
"I just grew out of it, I guess. I figured observing macromolecular reactions was much more interesting, and safer, than outer space."
"Smart. Well, when I was young, I wanted to be an F1 racer. And then a football star. And then the owner of an adventure sports company. I even considered food journalism once, you know."
" *laughs* Then what happened?"
"Life happened. I found out that you can't get everything that you want and that you need to find other ways to keep your life going. And also, my grades were somehow good enough to get into an Ivy League for my degree and I sure as hell wasn't going to pass that up."
"Very clever aren't you Mr. Brown?"
"I'd like to think so Ms. Carson."
"Hmm. Do you like what you're doing now though? Or what you will do once you graduate?"
"Yeah. I think I will."
"Then I guess you made the right choice after all."
