"Hey."
"Hey."
"What's up?"
"I'm actually up on my terrace right now and I can't help but notice there are a lot of stars out there today."
"That's cool. But what are you doing on the terrace? At night?"
"Oh you know, reminiscing about unrequited love, writing love songs for my beloved, strumming my guitar and serenading the starry skies."
" *laughs* Hopeless."
"In love, yes."
"Well then, tell me more about this 'unrequited love'."
"Well, she's a girl."
"Oh okay. For a moment there I'd guessed otherwise. Glad you cleared that up."
"Ha. Ha. Anyway, she's really rude to strangers, especially ones with sexy voices -"
" *scoffs* "
"-and her list of insults is endless. She's very funny, not that she tries to be but she is. She doesn't know how to use public transport-"
"That was one time!"
"-and I fear she might be slightly over the cuckoo side."
"You know, you're missing the point of 'love' if that's how you describe her."
"Shush Hayley. Let me finish."
"Oh you aren't done? Please, go ahead."
"Right. So as I was saying, she might be a little cuckoo, but she's cute anyway. She's beautiful - she has the most gorgeous eyes - and she's smart and interesting and she just has this way of making me feel better no matter what. I also like how she's always honest and how she's grown to open up to me. I think she's great, really."
"Um... Uh... Wow."
"Wow indeed. She's incredible."
"..."
"Are you flirting with me, Brendan Brown?"
"I don't know. Am I?"
"It sure sounds like it."
"Well, maybe I'm trying to be romantic."
"Not this again!"
" *laughs* "
" *laughs* "
"..."
"..."
"Hey Hayley, can you read constellations?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Because I sure as hell can't. I'm looking at these stars and wondering what possible pattern can be there."
"Well there's usually something."
"I've never been able to find constellations. Always sucked."
"Maybe because nobody showed you how to."
"My mom tried, but I never could figure it out."
"It's pretty simple actually. I think it's because you're just dumb."
"Very funny."
"Don't worry, I'll teach you. You, me and one starry night - it's a date."
"Want to go out with me so badly, Hayley?"
"Oh shut up. A friend date is what I meant."
"Nah. I'd rather a proper date."
"Who's desperate now?"
"Me, of course!"
" *chuckles* Hey, you never did tell me what you were doing up on the terrace."
"Oh, Matt and I come out here for a breather once in a while. Fresh air and all."
"That's nice. Relieves the stress, huh?"
"Yeah. There is also this apartment building across ours with a girls only floor, so great view too."
"Ew! Brendan, that's creepy!"
" *laughs* Just kidding. Man, you're so easy to rile up."
"Shut up! Idiot."
