Brock headed to the conference room, thinking he would've liked to talk to Gillian. But she was talking to Henderson, and the sign they were trading didn't need any translation—call me. Not a good moment to shake her hand and thank her for her present in front of some twenty agents, her lover included with his bright puppy eyes on her.

Cooper followed him into the conference room, where he was surprised to find Russell. They'd met more than ten years earlier, while Russell was taking some profiling seminars to apply to the BAU, and they had worked a few cases together back when Brock was still in the field.

Russell was one of the very few agents that didn't look away or pretended they didn't see him when they came across Brock. Russell would always stop to shake his hand and trade a few words with him. And he would always finish with the same words: "I'm looking forward to working with you again." So it was nice, finding out he was one of the other agents reassigned to Boston.

"Agent Brockner, I need you and Agent Coleman to take a case right now," Cooper said drily.

Brock didn't get a chance to be surprised, because Russell explained, "It's Gillian's case, Brock. The internet group for bullied kids."

"The Bull's Eye Boston group," Brock said. That was why she was there so early in the morning. "Did she find new evidence that makes it federal?"

Cooper narrowed her eyes at his words.

"We got the ghost user, and a lot of circumstantial evidence all over New England, but nothing solid so far," said Russell, handing him the folder.

Russell's phone buzzed and he excused himself to pick up. Cooper took her chance to face Brock with a cold ironic smile. He knew she was about to ask or comment about how well informed he seemed to be about the case, but Russell anticipated her.

"Ben Tindermann, the bomber boy, just identified Smith. Gillian still doesn't have the details as to what the boy said about him, but that's something."

"Smith?" repeated Brock.

"The ghost user."

Both men turned to Cooper, clearly expecting her to sit and work with them or let them be. She turned to Russell, wearing her trademark annoyed scowl.

"Keep me up," she grunted, spun around and left.

Russell headed to the door and paused to ask Brock, "Coffee?"

"Yes, please."

"Black, two sugars works?"

Brock nodded with a quick smile. Only now he paused to register that Russell knew Gillian, enough to help her with the case and to have each other's numbers. Well, good thing he did, and that Gillian had brought him into her case, so now he and Russell would be finally able to work together again.

He turned to the folders, feeling the anticipation tickling in his fingertips.
