The Suburbs

When Kirsten had said she wanted to escape the business and excitement of LA, I hadn't expected this. We were in the very suburbs outside the city, so far out you couldn't even see the halo of light pollution plus smog that was the city I loved so much. But when she said that she found a great house listed way less than it was worth, I just couldn't say no. The NSA had a branch near our new location, so we wouldn't have to commute too far. My first impression of our new house was simply: Wow. The house was sporting a fresh coat of grey paint, and even without that, it's two stories towered way over my head, and it's symmetrical double-paned windows framed the house, giving it an open feel. Oh, and don't forget the wrap-around front porch completing the whole look. "Let's get going already!" Came the impatient exclaim from around the back of the semi. "I'm coming," I yell back to Kirsten, walking towards the sound of her voice and bending down to pick up a pile of boxes. "Lead the way, Stretch." I said, and followed her through the open door and into our new house.
