Jen's POV

I entered the cab and closed the door with a loud thud, earning an angry look from the driver through the rear view mirror. The last thing I wanted was to be late. It was a good 40-minute drive to the venue and I needed to meet the girls there prior to the wedding.

The weather was extremely hot in California, given it was the end of July, which only added to the headache I already had from drinking the night before. Way to go, Morrison!

I rest my head back on the seat and closed my eyes. I had 40 minutes before I had to worry about everything.

-----------------------

"Ginny, can you pass me the curling iron?" I asked her and she practically ran to fetch it.

We were in Karen's hotel suite, all of us getting ready for the ceremony. I ended up being half an hour late, meaning I only had a little less than an hour to help the girls with everything and get dressed myself. Lana and Emilie were helping Karen with her dress, while little Vera was running around the room in her cute white tutu.

"Vera, I told you to sit over there." Emilie scolded her when she almost bumped into Ginny.

"Sorry mummy." she apologized with her adorable high pitched voice.

I stuck my head out of the bathroom door.

"Hey, wanna help aunt Jenny get her hair done?" I asked her with the best impression of a baby voice I could muster.

She nodded enthusiastically and immediately started running towards me. I scooped her up and set her down on the counter next to the bathroom sink I was previously occupying. Ginny handed me the curling iron and I proceeded to plug it in and set it on the other side of the sink, as far away from her reach as possible.

"I like your hair." she mumbled, with her wide eyes glued at me.

I looked at her with a smile. She was really cute.

"Thank you! I like your dress. You look like a princess." I said, poking her nose gently.

She giggled and hid her face in her small hands. She reminded me much of Ellie when she was about her age.

I had always dreamed of having a daughter of my own, but I guess that couldn't happen anymore. Not naturally anyway, because I was nearly 40 years old.

I started curling my hair with Vera watching my every move and humming a random song occasionally. When I was done, I set her down again and took her by the hand, leading her to the couch on the other side of the room. I sat her on it and knelt down to her eyes' level.

"Can you be a good girl and sit here while mommy and the rest of us help Karen over there look pretty?" I asked, motioning to where all the women were gathered.

She nodded and I kissed her forehead before I began to stand up. But before I was able to do so, I felt her tug on my dress.

"What is it?" I asked in a soft voice.

"Wanna go to daddy and Mason." she whispered.

I turned my gaze to Emilie, who had taken my previous spot in the bathroom and was brushing her hair.

"Wait here, I'm going to ask your mommy, okay?" I asked her and she nodded.

Her nods where really adorable.

"Em, Vera is asking for her dad and her brother. Can I take her?" I asked her as soon as I reached the bathroom door.

Emilie had given birth to a beautiful little boy just three months before. I was beyond happy for her and her family when I found out.

"Oh, don't bother, she can wait just a bit more, then I'll take her there myself." she stated.

"It's no problem, I don't seem to be much of a help here anyway, and besides, I only have to do my makeup. I can take her." I assured her.

"Thank you Jennifer."

"Any time." I smiled at her and went back to Vera.

Surprisingly enough, she was at the exact same spot I had left her a few minutes before. That was pretty unusual for kids her age.

"Come on big girl, I'm taking you to daddy and Mason."

She jumped down the couch and ran to the door. I caught up with her a moment later and took her hand. I opened the door and we exited the room.

All the men, including the young ones, like Oliver and Hugo, where already at the venue the wedding was to take place. It was not too far from the hotel but halfway there Vera got tired and asked me to carry her. I did as she said and I lifted her in my arms, her instantly wrapping her tiny arms around my neck.

We entered the estate and it was really crowded, something I actually expected. It was a big open space with a view of the ocean. I wandered around for a bit, in search of Eric, but he was nowhere to be seen. And you could think a stroller would be easy to spot.

I caught a glimpse of Jared sitting alone on a bench and rushed to his direction.

"Hey, kid! Um, have you seen Eric around?" I asked him hastily.

"Oh yeah, he was just here. He went that way, I think." he replied, pointing somewhere behind me.

I thanked him and turned around, only to see a pair of familiar blue eyes a few feet away, filled with sock and surprise, looking straight into my green ones.

It hadn't actually crossed my mind that he would have been there as well.

A/N: Karen has actually been married to a Swedish hot guy since 2013, but for the sake of the story, I needed a wedding to happen🙈 Emilie is married to a guy named Eric and has one kid, little Vera who turned 1 year old in March, but here she has a baby boy as well🤗
Expect an interesting update tomorrow😏😏
