❝SEE, I'VE COME TO BURN YOUR KINGDOM DOWN, AND NO RIVERS AND NO LAKES, CAN PUT THE FIRE OUT.❞
WITH DAN'S HELP, Genevieve had learned the term therapist rather thoroughly, along with a few other occupations and helpful words to know in general, and now, she was beyond ready to play the part of damaged goods, someone who needed the professional assistance regarding her shaken mind.
Perhaps, it wasn't so far-fetched, after all. Genevieve took pride in the darkness she carried within, and wasn't ashamed of the wicked, treacherous side that most people saw instead of anything good or positive in any way, but there was something else in that tar black heart of hers, as well. She didn't claim to be innocent, but there was a stain on her soul that drastically differed from the rest — sure, she was bad and a villain, but amidst all that evil, was a heartbroken girl. She refused to admit it, and the remains of a better person were barely alive within her, as she had spent eons suffocating the light and drowning all the positivity, until she had hardened into this cold, ruthless queen who was known for her brutality. But underneath, there was a part of her that made it easier to play the role she needed in order to pass as someone who needed the help of a therapist. Because, no matter how hard she tried to deny it, she wasn't stable.
At all.
Humming the tune of yet another rock song she had heard on the radio — that genre was slowly developing to her favorite one — Genevieve stepped into the building that she had learned Lucifer also went to on a daily basis, to see a certain doctor named Linda Martin. With the name in her mind and on her tongue, Ginny strutted the hallways until she was in the right place, but before she could find the door with the woman's name on it, the queen bumped into someone else. Her body thudded against another, and the rough contact caused her to stumble back, and as she did, anger instantly settled into her heart. Frankly, she was tempted to draw out a fireball to throw towards whoever had walked into her, but stopped herself at last second.
A pair of hands caught Genevieve before she could collapse onto the floor, and as the tight but gentle hold steadied her body, the queen lifted her ice cold stare, only for it to land on the pair of dark eyes she had hoped to see again. With her wrath fading into something else entirely, Ginny found herself staring at Lucifer with surprise in her brown eyes — the same kind of amazement that was there when she first saw him at the police station. As they stared at each other, the woman felt the genuine surprise in her fade into something more pleasant, realizing only then that the target of her hatred and revenge stood there, a smile tugging on his pink lips as a sound chuckle slipped from between.
"Metallica?", the Devil commented on Genevieve's humming, "be still my heart." The smirk on his lips only deepened, and as it did, the queen ended up mirroring the curious expression with sincerity.
"You again", she responded snarkily, only then understanding that Lucifer's large but gentle hands were still resting on her arms, and in an instant, she stepped away enough for his hold to drop. Lucifer noted this, but he elected not to comment, just settled for eyeing Genevieve, clearly intrigued by her and the passion she was just radiating with. If only he knew that the passion in her was mostly formed of the hunger for vengeance, which she craved to have on him.
