"of all the people who i have met, that i loved and lost, it was in you that i truly found myself in the end."

i recently made a new discovery. it was serendipity really. i wasn't looking for it but i'm glad i found it.

i've been taking walks to try to clear my mind. and it was on one of these walks i found it.

it is a little cafe. it's petite and french style and classy. it is called nouvelle rose. which i think is french for new rose.

it's really cute and cozy. it is painted dusty pink and has one those aesthetic looks that would be make for beautiful photos.

out front, it has that typical french cafe setup. the large windows with the outdoor tables and the blackboard attached to the wall.

the name of the cafe is in stylised print over the two toned pink striped awning.

inside is just as beautiful. it is warm and softly lit with simple but pretty laid out tables. it has this really unique and pleasant smell. it's like a medley of beautiful smells come together.

the coffee there is amazing. and their pastries are even better. but that is not my favourite thing about nouvelle rose.

there's a door that leads out back where tables are set up for those who want a little more privacy.

to me this is the best part of the cafe. the back of the cafe is a garden. and it especially feels enchanted in this springtime.

the sea of pure green is dotted by budding flowers. daffodils here, a little sprinkle of bluebells there and clouds of pink roses everywhere.

climbing roses twist round the white picket fence that forms a border for this garden, creating a beautiful backdrop.

there is a wind chime over the door that tinkles every time there's a slight breeze. combined with the distant sound of water from a pond i have yet to find, it is incredibly soothing.

beyond the fence, you can hear the chirping of birds and i think they are robins fluttering about on the still growing trees a little in the distance.

everything in the garden creates this calm atmosphere. and it's really conducive for creativity too. i find that i know what to write when i'm here.

the delightful smell of flowers and coffee and strawberry cheesecake wafts through the air as i try to string words together in my notebook.

it feels like being thrown at the centre of an incredibly beautiful painting. and when i'm here i don't really want to leave.

i have completely fallen in love with this cafe and its secret garden. i finally found a place where i don't remember to think of you.
