Dear journal,

I can't speak german so the kids at school make fun of me. But at least I can read and write in english. My teachers understand, I think. They  told me to write my reports in english instead of german. Franz doesn't like jews, he would hate mama. I've been in Germany for a month i've gotten used to this place but I can't call it home yet. Home is a feeling not a place. I haven't felt at home since we left mamma and oma back in canada. I left her when she was sick after all the years she took care of me I left her with mama alone in canada. I will never forgive myself for that. At least I'm safe with papa here. I just hope that they're safe too.
