"come on y/n!! it'll be fun!" seungkwan beamed.
"but i'm scared..." you said. you were at the base of a large water slide. you could feel your legs start to shake with fear. jeonghan slowly approached you.
"don't be scared y/n. i'll go with you. we can get a double tube. okay?" he said in a calming voice. you've liked jeonghan for a while now and couldn't pass up the offer to be with him. he protectively set his hand on your shoulder and you blushed at his touch.
"o-okay..." you said. he walked over to the pile of tubes and picked out a double one.
"okay, lets go get in line." he said, leading the way. you slowly followed after him, shaking with every step. seungkwan waved you off and made lovey-dovey gestures at you two. he was the only one who knew about your secret crush on jeonghan. you just pretended to ignore him and ran to catch up with jeonghan. you couldn't help but notice how muscular jeonghan's back was... but he interrupted your thoughts.
"why are you so scared of waterslides?" jeonghan asked.
"i don't like heights. and going fast. and dropping. and falling. and and they just scare me..." just thinking about all of the scary things made you tremble even more.
"it's okay to be scared y/n. i was scared of them at first too but i got over my fear. you're not alone." he smiled at you and you couldn't help but blush. you turned your head away in attempt to hide your now red cheeks but he had already seen. "okay we're in line now. no going back..." he said trying to change the subject.
"stopppp or you're gonna make me regret doing this..."
jeonghan laughed. "it'll be okay. i'm here" he said as he looked you directly in the eyes. how bad could this be?
there had been an awkward silence between you and jeonghan for a couple minutes and he finally decided to break the ice.
"are you afraid of all water slides?" he inquired.
"no, i just don't like the closed ones. i'm severely claustrophobic so i don't like tight spaces." you twiddled with your thumbs nervously.
"i promise you'll have lots of space in there. remember that you, me, and this tube all have to fit inside." he flashed a bright smile at you and you smiled back and blushed lightly.
"i know i'm changing the subject a bit, but do you wanna hear a story?" you asked him with a sudden smile on your face.
"sure! is it about waterslides?"
"actually, it is! so one time, i was on an open water slide at my grandpa's pool in florida. i was going so fast that i almost slid out of the slide! i was literally this close" ,you showed him how close with arm gestures, "to flying out!"
"wow... sounds scary..." he marveled.
"yeah it was, but it was also a lot of fun." by the time you finished your story, jeonghan and you were at the top of the line and next to get on.
"well, looks like we're next!" he said as he looked over to you. he showed you a thumbs up as the people in the tube before you went down. you shook with fear and asked yourself, 'why did i ever agree to do this?'

"jeonghan... i'm scared..." you whined.
"it's okay y/n. you can hang onto me okay?" he said in a sweet voice.
"o-okay..."
"you have to go up front because you're lighter than me. if you don't, you'll fly out at the end." he said as he held the tube in place and you slowly took your seat.
"h-how am i supposed to do this.." you asked the lifeguard on duty. "it's my first time being on a waterslide like this."
"like this." she said and showed you the proper position. by the time she was done, it was time for you and jeonghan to go down.
"jeonghannnn." you whined.
"it's okay y/n." he said as he pushed your tube down the slide. you looked for something to grab and at the same time, jeonghan wrapped his arms around you. you screamed with fright tried to get closer to him.
"YOU OKAY?" he yelled. it was too loud inside the slide for him to just talk.
"NO!" you replied in fear as you shook your head 'no'. by the time you got close enough to jeonghan to feel any bit safe, the slide was done and the tube was shot out of the end. both of you fell off the back of the tube and were dunked into the water. jeonghan let go of you as both of you swam up to the surface. surprisingly, you came up laughing. maybe this wasn't so bad...
"jeonghan, that was... AWESOME!!!" you yelled as you flung yourself onto his body.
"good!" he exclaimed as he embraced you in a tight hug. "i'm glad you liked it!"
"i really liked it... thanks for putting up with me..." you said, embarrassed.
"hey," he turned you to face him. "it's normal to be scared. you did just fine." he said. jeonghan pressed his lips to your forehead.
"ooooooooooh!!!" seungkwan cooed.
"SEUNGKWANNNNN!! IM GONNA BEAT YOU!!" you yelled as you ran after him. jeonghan laughed as he watched you chase after seungkwan. you finally caught seungkwan and gave him a beating across the butt.
"alright, where were we?" you asked jeonghan.
"wanna do that again?" he asked as he took your hand.
"yeah. let's do that a million times over."

indeed, this was the best day of my life. not only did i conquer my fear of slides but i also won the heart of the person i love ❤️

"thanks for reading! i hope you enjoyed~ this was actually based off my first experience with tubed waterslides! i used to have a deadly fear of them until maybe 6 days ago. i was on vacation in florida where i did a waterslide like the one i described in the story. i was really scared but i eventually got over my fear! of course, jeonghan wasn't there but everything else was in my experience!
