Silvery flakes drift slowly from the mid-day sky and leave a blanket of unbelievable coldness on the ground. I sit in the chair closets to the window in my history class as the teacher speaks to us about perception and how things for people in this very state were different than today. I stare up towards the sky outside the window as the snow carries on flooding the soccer field with a coat of the small flakes. I think about what kids before me were thinking. I wonder if they were worried about something; confused; happy; maybe they were just neutral. I wondered if they had things to worry about like me. I wondered it my grandparents and my parents could remember what they were thinking about at one moment in their lives.

"So, today, I am assigning you a paper to write. I want you to jump into the minds of kids just like you at different times in history, but make sure they all live in Colorado and that everything is realistic." my teacher says, pulling me from my thoughts.
