Chapter 3 - Fight

*Leonardo*

Leonardo and Raphael rushed to the cell where they found Donatello and Mikey on the ground. Leonardo looked around and into the cell to see Splinter standing with his hands clasped behind his back.

"Where did she go?" Raphael asked tightly.

Leonardo moved to his brother's side, ready to hold him back. Mike stood up and kept his eyes down.

"She escaped..." Splinter said from the inside of the cell. "We believed her too easily when she spoke to us..." He sighed heavily, disappointment looming on his face. "I let my guard down, and now she is returning to Shredder."

"We all did Master Splinter..." Mikey said quietly.

Raph tensed beside Leonardo. Leo knew Raph was going to explode soon, but did didn't know what to do. What kind of leader didn't know what to do?

"She will be running back to Shredder, most likely with more information of what we have been up to here. Leonardo, I want you to go after Donatello. After she escaped he took off after her."

Leo tensed, glanced at Raphael, then nodded stiffly. "Yes, Master Splinter, but Raph and Mikey have the right to come too, and we may need all four of us."

Splinter hesitated, glancing at Raphael. Splinter could see through the cool demeanor Raph always attempted to keep up, Splinter could see how much Raph was hurting. "Very well. Do not trust what she says. We do not know to what extent Shredder's hold is upon Dani."

*Dani*

I glanced backwards to see the turtle still following. He was faster than I originally thought and I wouldn't be outrunning him anytime soon. I came to a stop and spun around. The turtle was surprised and came to a stop as well. He was breathing heavily as he stared me down.

"It's all just a game of cat and mouse, isn't it?" I laughed with a shake of my head. "Whoever you think I am, or whoever I was, that person's gone." The turtle had no reaction, he just stared silently at me. "Nothing? No 'she's still in there'?" I chuckled and shrugged my shoulders. "I underestimated you. You can keep your emotions in check, better than the others. Especially that dumb one with the orange mask," I crossed my arms. "He really is so gullible, no wonder he didn't join you in the chase after me. He's probably still sitting on the ground, rocking back and forth. Maybe even crying?" I tapped my chin with a raise of my eyebrow. "He seems like the cryer. I really wish I could still-"

The turtle screamed out, launching himself at me. Just what I was waiting for. His moves were sloppy, his emotions clouding his judgement. I dodged his initial attack and before he got too far I grabbed the end of the staff strapped to his back and flipped him over. He grunted in pain and tried to get up, but I pressed down on his chest with my foot while holding his staff to his throat.

"Now," I let out a breath, "where was I? Oh, right, your wimp of a little brother." I pressed the end of his staff against the underside of his chin causing his jaw to twitch. The muscles in my leg screamed against me as I pushed down on his chest with more force, keeping him pinned to the ground.

"Nobody talks about Mikey that way..." a gruff voice said behind me.

I sighed and looked over my shoulder. The three other turtles stood in a line facing me, there weapons at the ready.

*Raphael*

Dani turned towards us, her lips turned down in a scowl. Raphael tensed and he gripped his Sai knives tightly. How was he supposed to help her? She had changed too much, was she too far gone?
