Serina's POV
After the experience with tracking down Mozaku to the dragon's library, I kept having these weird sensations. It was as if my body and mind were subconsciously aware of the whereabouts of all of my characters. It was eerie. Anyway, we stepped into the library and looked around for a bit. Marie eventually got bored and disappeared off somewhere to go read something. I decided to check the map room just as Mozaku was exiting. He ran into me as he did so. He almost dropped the object that he was holding, one of the holographic dimensional maps.
"So sorry Serina," he said as he hauled me back to my feet.
"It's fine," I crossed my arms, "Where have you been though?"
"We were in Eragon's dimension; however, something happened while we were in the rift and we were separated. I can't find her, so I came back to grab a map to help," he explained. I raised an eyebrow in disbelief.
"Sorry for holding you up Mozaku," I jumped at the sound of Elizabeth's voice, "I'm sure you want to start your search for Lilly as soon as possible." He started to walk away, but paused before too long.
"Hey Elizabeth..."
"Don't worry about the writer," she told him, "We got her covered. And we'll take care of any traveling needs she might need. Never know when she'll want to visit Ranger's Apprentice again."
"You two realize I am standing right here?" I look back and forth between to two.
"Tell everyone else," was all Mozaku said before walking away.
"See ya later brother," Tearkan called as he walked over to us. I didn't hear any oral remarks, so I'm assuming his answer was physical.
"What-" Elizabeth stopped me with a raised hand. She stared intently after the dragon of darkness.
"Somethings up with Mozaku," Tearkan told us both matter-o'-factly.
"How could you tell?" Elizabeth asked, seemingly curious how he knew.
"Oh, the collar around his neck that someone cloaked. I've found that Mozaku's neck doesn't naturally shimmer, so I did some probing around."
"Well, you're right that something wasn't right. He and Lilly stumbled upon a man named Onryx," Elizabeth told us.
"Oh no," I groaned, "not him."
"What do you mean?" she tilted her head to the side.
"She and Shade had an encounter with him and Nefesi in the Soul Realm yesterday," Tearkan informs her for me.
"Oh, not a good experience?" she questioned.
"I found out that he was--sorry correction--is using souls to power his dimensional travels. Do you know how disrespectful that is to those individuals?"
"Well, good news in that regard. The map that Tearkan had is going to him so that he can find the Back to the Future dimension and steal a...Mr. Fusion?" Elizabeth scrunched up her eyebrows in confusion, "Apparently that's some sort of power source. Anyway, that's why he had the collar on, because Onryx was monitoring his speech."
"Making sure Mozaku didn't tell us about his plans and such?" Tearkan more said than asked, but Elizabeth nodded her head anyway before continuing.
"He doesn't know where else he wants to go though. Before he struck their current deal, Onryx wanted Lilliana to provide the coordinates for that and several other dimensions. Mozaku managed to convince him to let him go and get a map for him to use. However, Onryx was monitoring him, so he couldn't say anything out loud."
"Makes sense that you would know," I said with a smile, "mind talking is quite useful to find out what people know without saying a single word."
"Yes, anyway, now he's going back to Fallout to retrieve Lilliana and give him the map. After which Onryx will go to several other dimensions for various items. Don't know if you actually want him knowing that the reason that he has always encountered humans is because he hasn't really left the main human dimension pocket of time-space reality. What is it actually called?" she asked turning to face me.
"Hey don't look at me, I only create the ideas not really the names. Half the time, especially when I'm explaining things, I end up not even using coherent words," I tell her as I raise my hands up in a partly defensive, partly 'I have no idea' gesture.
"Well, we should probably follow this guy and take back that map when he's done with his errands," Tearkan tells us, "No telling what he'd do if he went to nature's dimension or worse...the original dimension." I nodded, if Nefesi took Onryx to the original dimension there was no telling what kind of damage that man could do with that much power, if he could figure out how to harness it. Based on what I had seen thus far, I had no doubt that he wouldn't sleep until he did so.
"Let's go then," I said with a small smile. After teleporting to Fallout, we found Mozaku...without Lilly.
"We're going to Back to the future," he said venomously. Tip for everyone out there, don't double cross the dragon of darkness, and that goes for all the legendaries really; whatever it is, it's not worth making some of the most powerful beings in reality angry at you.
