“Gin?” Jean gasps, closing the door behind her quickly. She stands out on the porch with me in pyjama pants and a hoody. “Gin, what the hell...what are you doing here?”
“I came back,” I tell her, because I don't have the energy to explain.
Her eyes glide past me to my things. “Wha...what's all that?”
I blink. I didn't think this through, did I? “Um...my mom...she sort of...left.”
Jean blinks too, unable to comprehend. After a few seconds, it clicks. “Oh my God.”
