I touch your hands and they melt into mine
Your crinkly palms dampens from nerves
I tell you it will be alright,
I'm never leaving your side.
My hands wrap around your waist,
feeling your heart skip another beat.
We wait in silence to hear your name.
My strength holds the world
It's my turn to be the lion,
protecting what's hers.
His fears are my guide into a settle lightness.
You jump at the sound from stern lips,
calling your name monotone and undeserving of saying your name as if its just another name.
But I stand up with you,
breathing for you,
and walking for you,
and then guide your footsteps into an uncertain world
because you cannot do it alone
and I won't let you.
