A doves cry

It was as if she had never heard the doves crying in the night.

His arms wrapped around her waist,

cuddled up in the faint sounds of whispers.

She couldn't tell if it was a dream or not, him pounding on the door.

It was in the middle of the night.

Thundering rain poured steadily;

Soaking wet, he confessed his love for her.

"It was a mistake, it was all a mistake.

I never wanted anyone else but you, and only you.

I love you more then you'll ever know."

She stood there breathless, shocked to say the least.

Her mouth slightly open,

free from words, yet, she lost any ability to speak.

He grabs her face cupping both cheeks,

pulling into unchartered territory.

Her heart was sucked right into it,

Feeling like a young schoolgirl again.

Sweet velvety lips massaged her lonely heart.

No, it wasn't a dream as she noticed him next to her.

The doves cries never came again,

When he came back into her life.
