I was woken up by the loud boom of thunder. It made me jump, waking up Seán. He turned me around so that I was facing him. He gave me a concerned look.
"Baby, you okay?"
My eyes shifted side to side. I was scared to tell him about my childish fear. I kept my gaze anywhere but on him. He lifted my chin up so that I was looking at him. He stared deeply into my e/c eyes. Before I could speak, thunder clapped again, making me squeeze my eyes shut. I heard a faint gasp from him. I felt him pull me into his chest. He rubbed my back and started whispering.
"It's okay baby. You're safe. Nothing's going to happen to you. I will keep you safe. I wont let anything hurt you. You'll be okay. I love you."
I fell asleep to the sound of his soothing voice. What would I do without him?
