Do you like birds?

Do you like birds?

It is said some birds mate for life,

And if one of them dies, the other dies from heartbreak.

Now tell me,

Do you like birds?

As they are graceful creatures,

Yet harsh in the ways they mate.

In some ways, birds represent the human species.

Tell me,

Do you like birds?

For birds have wings which soar quite far.

Wings which will take them great distances,

To lands many have never seen.

To countries, some may have never visited.

Do you like birds?

As they sing such a beautiful song,

Like an opera singer singing their emotions.

They awake before dawn has arrived, while

The earth is blanketed in darkness,

Singing a tune to greet those appreciative of the song

To a lovely morning.

Tell me,

Do you like birds?

Because birds represent many things.

And all I see are birds when I gaze upon you.

You are the one that has given me my wings,

Granting me the privilege to fly.

Like a bird, I sing a happy song when I speak or think of you.

Like a bird, I go to distant lands and never before seen places,

When I gaze upon you.

For my love, like a bird's, is too strong,

And I am willing to mate for life with you,

Just as a bird would.
