Rinnnnng! Rinng! I groggily got out of bed and practically sleepwalked to the phone in the kitchen. By the time I got there, the ringing had stopped, but there was a message. It said it was from Moose Pass, Alaska. Huh. I didn't know anybody from Alaska, but I listened anyway. It said: (this probably won't be very much like the actual message, but I'll do the best I can)
"Hi Mom, it's Percy. I'm okay and, kind of, safe. I'm on a quest with some friends from the roman camp. Annabeth probably told you about it. I hope I'll see you soon. Love you."
Tears welled in my eyes. My baby was, kind of, safe. He remembered me and my phone number. And Annabeth! I smiled through my tears. As I walked back to my bedroom, I decided I would tell Paul and Annabeth in the morning. They would be ecstatic! I fell asleep with my hopes high thinking of Percy.
